In the spirit of testing and the frustration of Pansat 9200 PVR/ their struggles to get this functioning, I have completed some probes of the RS232 port. The goal is to not only download new firmware but also gain control of the basic functions, “record ,play change channel etc.”. We’ll see how this pans out.
I have attached a null modem cable (115200baud) and gained this output at receiver boot;
CCodeldr(370) : Start Check Button
USB_Init(474)
(1352)USB_HOST_MODE:0x0
Check_USB_Device_INT(1373) Error : Not Plugged !!
Usb_Init(480) Check_USB_Device_INT() Fail !!

STB has no USB Device !!

The last line is repeated indefinitely as a broadcast message, perhaps because of the “MODULE_SERIAL_FAILURE” error. So either the serial input has not been programmed into the firmware or there is a key sequence to activate this access during boot.
My hope is we can access this port as stated in the manual. So to all those HD lovers out there here is the first step let start testing.
