You don't want to use gloss paint on a dish.
I was wondering when someone was going to catch that! -
Took a hard look at the pictures, and couldn't really confirm gloss vs matte, so kept quiet.

There are also dull/matte clear sprays you can apply.
Might be useful for permanently sealing a decal or sticker to the dish.

Or maybe one could even go over a gloss surface with a ScotchBrite pad to knock off the shine.
Not sure if that would ruin the paint surface, so not suggesting it, but maybe another member with more knowledge on the subject will comment.

I've used the 99¢ cans of paint from Target/Walmart.
They come in common flat colors. (white, gray, black)
At worst, you could use a can of that as your final top coat.

Painted up some replacement LNB support arms for a 3ABN dish a while back.
Used flat gray primer spray.
Couple of coats, and I was seriously surprised how professional it looked.

And actually, for everywhere but the dish-face, gloss would be fine.

I did use gloss, but since the dish had a rough powderocat finish, it evened out

Good call on the clear paint, Anole. I use this to cover any nuts and bolts after an install, and to cover the elevation adjustment slots on dish mounts (which always get the original paint scraped from them when peaking a dish). These areas always rust in a moist environment, and the clear enamels provide a nice level of protection.

Well folks I got bored and painted my 30" dish with some decent paint that is supposed to glow in the dark! Well last night after brushing on the second coat...it's not glowing yet. I may have to keep applying coats and see what happens. It does give it a little of a shine though. If it works I post results. I can just see my 4 dishes glowing at night...that will annoy the neighbors lol. Blind:)
