That is cool and so much more convenient than having to go into the menus to get to the ota signal. I wonder how he ever figured this out in the first place unless he just lucked into it.

The above method is used for locating the satellite feed.

It hadn’t previously worked for OTA -I just kept trying it from time to time for OTA - and it just worked out of no where...

When I left Dish the 1st time I had a ViP 722 and I remember the sat icon with the orbital location showing up in the info banner

It is important to note that the info>recall for OTA is a recent occurrence. It probably deserves its own thread...
