Probably been answered before, but I was wondering if the OTA module can receive "foreign" stations. For example, if you live in Seattle, can you receive CBC, CTV, Global etc. from Vancouver or Victoria, BC?
Also, what happens if you connect a cable system feed to the module? Will it decode anything?

I believe the Canadians also us the ATSC format for transmitting; if you can receive the signal, you would be able to view the station's broadcasts.

As for the Cable signal, none of the current Dish receivers can decode digital cable (QAM) or analog cable for that matter as there is no analog tuner in the receivers.

It may be notable that Canada's digital transition (necessary for reception by DISH receivers) varies widely by location. It may or may not be completed by August of this year.

The roll-out gets modified occasionally and is a model for what not to do.

I live in the Detroit area and I receive CBC/9 from Windsor in HD fairly reliably. I do not, however, receive any guide info. It only displays "Digital Service" in the EPG.

For those Dish Equipment Nay Sayers

What's needed for portable dish to just get 129?
