Order date to install date

Hi,

I recently bought a new HD and have decided to make the switch from DTV to Dish, primarily because of the greater number of HD channels offered by Dish, but also because of the uncertainity surrounding the arrival of the new DTV hd dvr. I'm really excited about Dish, but it seems like my install date was set way too far in the future. I ordered on July 3 and my install date was set for July 24. This seems a bit abnormal to me, but I would like to see what you guys seem to think. I've called twice to try to reschedule, but they insist that three weeks out is the best they can do. Does this seem normal or a bit too much?

depends on there scheduling. sometimes orders comes in spurts and can pile up and back up quickly. when a placed mine at one time, it was the next day.

I ordered my dish network on a Wednesday, had it installed on Saturday.

I think the OP's wait can be attributed to his hi-def DVR. Those are still a pain to come by. Have an install scheduled for tomorrow where the customer orignally placed their order 35 days ago

Thanks for the input guys! I think that Webbydude is correct, in that the 622 is really pushing the install back.
