Orby TV DVR STB

Question for other dvr owners. Has anyone found a way to schudule recordings like record only new episodes or record all episodes? When I want to record a show I half to manually select every episode to record

I think you are the only one here right now with a working Orby dvr. Perhaps if you call them and ask them, they can help you. If they say "it's not possible", ask them to explain why their dvr doesn't do something ALL dvr's have been capable of for 15 years or more.

They are IR controlled correct? I wonder if old series 2 tivos have code in them that would work. TiVo would probably make a guide for Orby, they do for apartment complexes, retirement communities etc.

I was thinking in terms of the device itself having a USB port with no apparent use. Nothing to due with any DVR fees.

My Dish receiver has the EHD enabled as opposed to built in hardware. The Orby receiver may lack the technology to remotely enable the feature for DVR service and simply offers a separate box for that purpose.

In my case, it was a one time activation fee which pays for itself in several months. In the case I switch providers, I would miss the Dish DVR service.

Not sure why anyone would want a non-DVR capable STB. Without the ability to record, timeshift, pause, skip commercials, etc. I don't think I would get much use out of a set top box.

I don’t want a DVR as I don’t care to record anything. I have never seen anything I wanted to watch later. I have a Genie DVR and have never used it. If I miss seeing something , I can catch it in a rerun. And don’t mind the commercials.

hey everyone wanted to know if anyone knows what size the hard drive is on the DVR? and also wanted to know how many tuners it has. i know it has to have at least 2 because you need one to record and one to watch TV when recording. im also wondering if the hard drive is a 3.5" or a 2.5" aka laptop and if it could be upgraded to a bigger size say like a 2TB. thanks
It has 4 tuners.
