old fashioned snow/static in HD?

I have a weird issue of late - it has been happening more and more...

on my HR20 (I'll assume its a 100 as its had the round led lights ver the rectangle shaped ones around the ring/eye)

When switching to a new show in the list of recorded content it will start playing but all you see is static or snow in HD (very cool) BUT not good when you want to watch the snow. if you FF or pause it sometimes corrects it but the audio will be way out of sync. if you go back and start it over via the "list" it seems to work. happening more and more.

I have a call into DirecTV BUT thought I'd see what you all thing first

Have you tried a restart? This seems to fix weird problems on TiVos, not sure if it does with HR20s.

Yes, it should reset the rec for the H 20 series as well,I would give that a try first.

Perferred method is to go thru the Menu to do the reset.

Menu>Settings>Set up>Reset then follow prompts, when asked, follow the ltabs for " Restart Receiver"
