Are they playing Flordia in the sec championship game ?
If so and they win, they will take Flordia's spot, not likely that they make the big game, but definatly a BCS game of course.
It's nice to see new teams get into the top 10 once in a while.

The Hogs are playing great, but, they lost at home to one of the other one loss teams (you know who). They won't get to the big game, even though I do believe they'll beat Florida. Michigan lost at the Horseshoe by 3. At a neutral site, that would make Michigan better.

Well....What a crazy game!! Hats off to both teams for living up to the hype!
Needless to say, the game is over and Michigan is out IMO. I said it before, the loser should not get a rematch! (Check my past posts) Any rematch in Glendale would destroy every bit of greatness that this game provided. Whether it was Mich or OSU, there shouldn't be a muliigan!

That being said. If USC wins out (doesn't have to be sexy; just win) they are a lock! Mich can not move up in the polls and USC will jump Mich in some of the computer polls that will make up the difference.

If USC loses, FL still has a shot to get in above Michigan. They will need Ark to beat LSU for the SOS boost. A USC win over ND and a loss to UCLA would be the best case as ND loss hurts Mich in SOS.

ND is out of the title race IMO. The highest they can get in the human polls is #3 as no voter with a brain would should put them above Mich. Their title shot died when OSU won.

Ark: a big long shot IMO. Outside of OSU, they are playing some of the best football out there right now. But I just can't see them getting that much love to past a UM in the polls. Only way is to put a whooping on BOTH LSU and FL (w/only one loss). In addition, USC MUST lose a game. Remember, 50-14 at ARK! IMO, they would need USC to beat ND and have UCLA beat USC. ND loss is needed to hurt Mich in SOS. This is one team that would benefit from a playoff.

Michigan did not win their conference. They should not be able to play in the championship even if they are the 2nd best team. They had their shot and blew it. OSU tried to give the game to them with their three turnovers.

As stated before we need the Oklahoma rule in the BCS.

Yeah....well....damn....eventhough it WAS A GREAT GAME....it was a terrible way to end the game. But oh well, que sera, sera....every dog has their day.

Some of the turnovers were just horrible. I consider the center snapping the ball and it never leaving the ground trying to give the game away. Two of the turnovers were just stupid mistakes on OSU's part. Michigan had nothing to do with them except falling on the ball to recover them.

This is also why a playoff will never work. Why try the last game if it does not mean anything. Just think OSU and Michigan could have rested all of their starters and just had a plain dull game if they new they would be in a playoff. Because they both needed to win to guarantee a birth in the championship game they went all out.

We play with the rules we're given. USC's strength of schedule did them in. I'd have loved seeing OU play USC that year. OU destroyed several Heisman candidates on the way to the BCS championship. I really wanted them to have a chance at Carson Palmer.

Guys....Its not the Oklahoma rrule. While OU didn't win their conference, at least they won their division.

A bigger travisty IMO is Neb in 2001. Didn't even win their division, lost 62-26 (or something like that) to CU on their last game and STILL made the title game!!!

I think that they should join a conference. There are only 4 teams that I know of that are still not in a conference.

Notre Dame
Navy
Army
Temple

Pull Notre Dame into the Big 10 since they already play at least 4 of the teams a year.

There's only 6 BCS conferences
They would also add Notre Dame provided they had 8 wins, kinda like it is now, ND gets an automatic BCS bid, I wish my team got an automatic BCS bid, then the Mgame would not have been a big deal.

Why not. If you look at the rankings since the BCS was instated I can not think of a time that there was always another team that deserved to be in the championship game. Besides when there were only 2 undefeated teams.

If that theory is to run true, then, you can skip all the talk about any of the above mentioned teams playing .... (M, ND, Fla, USC, ARK )
Bring on Boise State, after all they are the only other team still Undefeated.

Boise State will never play in the championship because there strength of schedule does not compete. No large school will schedule Boise State because they are not in one of the powerhouse conferences in the BCS. Also Boise State is not in a BCS conference. This will hurt them every year. I bet you will only see BCS conference schools in the national championship games.
