Turned in my receivers yesterday. When I got home, I had an email saying I owed them .73. Don't think it is worth writing and mailing a check for that amount. I'll have to wait and see what they do.

They will send you to collections

Ruining your Credit rating for 73 cents seems like a questionable decision which will likely cost you much more down the line. Higher Interest rates and or being denied a credit line/Mortgage. Send a check or call them up and pay them via an electronic payment.

Pay it with a credit card you never use. Discover, US Bank, and a few others will just cancel your amount owed on your credit card statement if it's under $1.

Really? Now all I need to do is find someone that will sell me a car paid in sub $1 installments on a credit card for the next few thousand years and I'll have myself a free car! :biggrin

I've known a few people who were in a similar situation, where they owe'd a less than a dollar and refused to pay it either to make a statement because they felt like they were screwed over or because they just didn't want to take the time to make a payment for an amount so small. And then in a few months when notices from collection agencies came in the mail they bitched and moaned and threw a hissy fit. They had no one to blame but themselves, 110% their fault. If they would have just paid the 57 cents all would have been good, and it wouldn't have been an issue. Be an adult, be responsible. Pay your bills, pay them on time and in full and you won't have anything to worry and and you'll save a lot of aggravations and money in the future.

If you feel like making a statement, pay with a credit card so the company loses money on the transaction fee. Any other action is just stupid and will end up biting you and you'll blame everyone else but yourself for the aggravation.

I have encounter a problem with a cell phone company once. It said I owed like $0.57. I go to pay $0.57 online and it says Error: minimum payment is $1.00. So being nice I tried to pay $1.00 and it said Error: amount exceeds balance owed.

Either they do this on purpose or their programmers are totally clueless.

I had one where I bought a POE adaptor at a distributor. Paid $50 cash and was told that was all I had to pay.

Then the girl who does the accounting bugged the hell out of me for 3 months to collect $3 in tax.

If it was me, why bother
