Just got set up. I kept my 40 remote but he paired the 52 with it. How do I pair the 40 so I can restore timers and settings?

Using the 52 remote, hit the Home button twice to go into Diagnostics, then hit the SAT button on the 40 remote, and you should hear a short tone from the 40 remote to let you know its paired, and it should appear on the Diagnostics screen in addition to the 52 remote.

Keep in mind it can take a little while for the pairing to complete. It isn't an instant thing. Just stay on that screen and wait for the indication on the screen.

How do you see your temperature and all that on the h3? And pair this second remote to it? The 40.

install went great only problem was when the tech was trying to send data to dish and test would just stop at 180 and not ever finish

To manually unpair Hopper remote:

Hold sat till all light up
Hold Recall and 0 for 3 secs
Press search
Press vol +
Press stop
Wait 5 secs for tone

If it is more than one action it is too much. We use the green closed caption button all the time since it is so convenient.

They should not take your remote.

My installers did as well. He said they wouldn't work correctly with the new Hopper. Despite me asking to keep them, they took them with the old Hopper & Joey. I suppose it'll just be something new to get used to...
