PiP issues with 52.0 remote
I had a H3 installed today along with a 4K Joey and 2.0 Joey. I agree with everyone else, the H3 is blazing fast. I am so used to slow responding receivers that the speed of the UI is almost annoying (in a good way). Installation took about 2 hours and went smoothly. I replaced a 622 and 722k, so I'm jumping a few generations of Dish equipment but I'm glad I did.
My biggest complaint so far is the new smaller 52.0 remote. Having used a 20.0/21.0 remote for the last five years, I have grown accustomed to having the three PiP buttons at the bottom of the remote (PiP, Swap, Position). With the 52.0 remote, you use the "input" button on the side of the remote but it can only do one function at a time (PiP or Swap). This is a big disappointment as I use PiP frequently while watching multiple sporting events. To Swap or PiP, you have to push the "option" button, choose the PiP on screen menu and then decide what type of PiP you want. I am tempted to ditch the new 52.0 and buy more 40.0 remotes.
And, the "Sports Bar Mode" only works on 4K TV's. I was assuming it would work on my 1080p tv sets just like PiP works now, but with four channels on screen. That is a disappointment that Dish chose to limit that feature. There is very little 4K content out there right now, so I am not tempted to upgrade my TV yet.
Any others have issues with the PiP and the 52.0 remote?
