OFFICIAL: Dish Network Not Enough New HD Complaint Thread

I bet nothing happens until after the first new bird goes up and goes operational! Then Charlie will eventually drop the bomb! He could give us a bone and give us some of the HD channels that we have been wanting, but he chooses not to because he can! That shows me he really don't give 2 sheets about his customer's wants, its all about how to get more money in Charlie's pocket!

If Charlie wants more money in his pocket, he should fire up some hd. Ask Direct. They know where the money is.

Dish Network sub since 2002. Received a letter in the mail Saturday 3/8/08 from DirecTv. They are offering me their best package of around 200 channels for 39.99 plus 9.99 for HD upgrade. Price is locked in for 12 months before it goes up. Equipment is free (up to 4 rooms) and HD receiver upgrade is free. I may leave Dish Network because I'm now paying 75.00 which will increase to 85.00 when my 10.00 monthly credit ends for upgrading to HD. It just doesn't seem that Dish is doing enough to keep current customers. I will possibly make a decision based on the Charlie Chat tonight (3/10).

FINALLY! we have names of channels dish will put on for us. charlie says between now and summer we'll have most of these.

Great!

We've been wondering what they mean by "Soon."

Now we also got to wonder what Charlie means by "Most".

Great, just great!

I think it is very encouraging that Charlie talked a little more openly about hd. He did say Most not all would be launched by summer. I think what Scott has said all along about early May is right on the money or I should say, right on the hd.:)

Yes, it was better. Though, the skeptical part of me isn't crazy about how he used the word "most". Hopefully, he isn't using that word as a back-door out and just means that likely they'll come to agreement with the carriers of MOST of those channels.

But, as a HD customer, definitely feel better like "we're getting there".

Yea, I was kind of surprised that he actually talked more expansively about national HD and gave us names of channels (probably took that list off the D* website). But, again, "soon" and "most" and "provided we get a fair deal", etc. So he's made statements that can't be contradicted: whatever channels we get are consistent; whatever ones he doesn't will be coming "soon" or fall in the "not most" part or won't give him that deal. Seems to indicate he really doesn't have anything imminent.

In Charlie's defense it really doesn't make sense to say anything before the sat goes up; however, from last night's chat it still seems like even after all of them are up we're in for maybe a few low-ball channels this year.
