Hello. I moved from NJ to FL and was experimenting to see if I can get my NYC/NJ locals on my Directv channel lineup. So I changed my receiver zip code to my old NJ zip and then changed my billing address to my old NJ zip as well(set my bill delivery via email). I reset all defaults of my receiver using my old NJ zip but Im still getting my FL locals. I don't necessarily care about my FL locals since I have an air antenna to access then. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help

To "move" a receiver you need you:

1. Understand that MOST locals are spot beamed so it will not matter about what I say next, BUT

2. NYC's big 4 networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX) are still CONUS (not spot) they are part of DirecTV's DNS services.

3. You do not need to change any in-receiver zip.

4. You change your DirecTV "service address" not billing.

5. You may need to reset the receiver; I have not done it in a while so not sure about these newer receivers needs.

6. Your actual reception may still be scrutinized because all providers are tightening the reception of out of market signals. According to the LAW (not just DirecTV rules) you are only to receive markets based on the zip code you are physically in.

So good luck.
