Sounds good!
Hope my only criticism is the ugly orange. :)

(think I got some shrink tubing that'll fit it ... in Green!) ;)

I have always wondered why they went with orange.

I see the product listed as "741 standard Ku" still with a grey Ku cap on the WSI website.

I finally gave up waiting for the snow to stop here and switched some Ku dishes around yesterday. Had to keep the little sathero meter warm; it doesen't like 0F temps very much, the buttons quit working when cold. Hope I didn't get too much snow inside the connectors etc. Been snowing for about 5 days steady here but not heavy snow maybe 6" accumulation.

Ya know, I've been tempted to buy one of those BSC 621 types to test to see how they stack up against these 741s I'm using now but can't talk myself into spending the money. I found an online vendor that has the 621s advertised for like $22 plus shipping but then I've read here where ppl weren't too happy with his customer service, ie, slow or no shipping, etc??? Vendors on fleabay want $39 for the 621 shipped.

The only difference I've seen between the two is the db gain as the 621 says 65 and the 741 says 70?? Since they both look to be identical on the outside and are made in China, that makes me wonder if they're not the exact same LNBF just with different numbers?

Ennywho, maybe one day someone will do an A/B test with them and post the results here. That way I won't have to spend the money to find out. :D

I have one I will sell you cheap Lone Gunman. I've never hooked up the coax cables because it wouldn't fit my feedhorn wave guide and I didn't want to take everything on the dish apart to change waveguides. It's still in the box. PM me for details. Thanks, Chad

PM Sent yesterday?

My 621 is a universal one model 621-2, makes the Ku freq 10600 with 22k set to on.

My systems are setup for the "Standard" LNBF with Ku LO @ 10750 so I can't use that one. I've already got a "U" that I bought by mistake the first time but I still use that one for testing when I have problems. I've basically got two systems that are pretty much the same except for the dish. I can swap receivers and or satellite lists between the two and never miss a beat.

But thanks for the thought though.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Sent a message last week to one of the fleabay vendors that was selling the DMX741 LNBFs asking when he would have NS741 for sale. Received this reply this AM.

Hi, Yes, they are in our stock and hopefully we will listed them by next week. NS741 and NS741U. Thanks - paxlycom

Thanks for the update Lone Gunman! I want one for a backup when they are available. I'll keep an eye out. Merry X-Mas to you also & a happy and healthy New Year!

Hey Chad, Happy New Year to you also!! FYI, I think it might be a good idea to hold off on that purchase if you can. The price will probably be high to begin with so I'm going to wait a while before I buy a spare. I've seen the price on those things down around $30 shipped back early last summer so there's a chance they might get there again once the initial surge of purchases settles down. I've done some additional grounding on my SAMI system in hopes of preventing another lightning related failure but I won't know for sure until next summer.

sound good. I'll wait till late spring before I even think of getting one. Unless they come down so low I can't refuse. Gee $30.00 for a c/ku band LNBF complete? I can remember paying like $150.00 or more for a single LNB back in the late 80's, early 90's. My how things have changed over the years. Thanks for the info.

Wally the box says there is a switch recomendation, it must mean that there is no internal switch but you would have to use an external switch if you only use one lead in cable.

They changed it to orange when DMS changed theirs to orange. DMS probably changed it to orange just to watch how fast WSI changed it. I will make it my personal mission to avoid WSI and the resellers who deal in WSI stuff.

Funny. I go out of my way to avoid DMSI equipment, as a general rule. ;)

... even though I did just get in one of their products. :)

Just goes ta show ya: can't please all the people all the time! ;)
