Years ago I subscribed to Dish. I'm in western Colorado and they provided Denver channels as my local channels. At some point, they changed this and said they had to use the Grand Junction channels as my local channels. G.J. is 80 miles away; Denver is 300. They blamed it on the satellite footprint and said we were outside it. Yet my neighbor across the street (and in another county) gets the Denver channels with Dish with no problem.
I have heard this was actually due to a copyright court case Dish lost and that if you receive any channel OTA, they can't offer you channels outside your area.
Can I pretend that I'm in an RV and have them change my service address to one that would provide me with the Denver channels even though my receiver hasn't moved?
Any help with this would be appreciated.
