Hey folks hows it going? I'm a Newb and I've tried to scan the topics for an answer, but cannot seem to find one. I've recently given a St. Paul MN address to D*, but still live in KCMO. I've changed the info on all my recievers and talked to CS, CSTechs, I've done resets, SW downloads and still cannot get MN locals. I was getting KC locals just fine. The correct MN channels come up on the guide and I get FoxSportsMN through the sports package but all I get on the screen for locals is 727 or 771. Can anyone please expain if its possibe to even get them and how. Football season is coming up and I can't afford to get NFL ST &SF or even go to a bar. Come to think of it I'd spend even more in a bar.

Thanks

The locals channels are on spot beams that do not reach you. The local sports channels are not spot beamed, so as to be available in packages like Extra Innings or Center Ice.

Spotbeams only cover +/- 150 miles as the crow flies (some larger, some smaller). Since I'm pretty sure you are well beyond that, you can't get them.

Might think about calling D back & let them know you aren't "moving" after all. Otherwise, no locals.
