No Display on AZBOX

hi sonyajohn :) if you can see the AZBOX logo on your TV that is a good sign. I think once you reach that point in the procedure stop pressing the arrow key and continue on in the procedure. It sounds like you're going one or two clicks too far. just my 2 cents. my az is broken at the moment so i can't confirm it.

Can't get the main screen.

One question: Should I try and press "Resolution Button and arrow left or right, press enter, then try theprocedure?
Thanks for your help

Try resolution, (mine shows composite, component, hdmi), press enter, mine then shows PAL, a left or right arrow goes to NTSC. Since mine is already NTSC, yours might be showing NTSC, so press OK and see what happens. If it doesn't work, go through the same procedure and use the arrow button before you press OK.

To try to get to the main menu settings screen, try pressing Home, then left arrow, and then OK.

No luck yet, Went and got an old 20" and plugged the yellow rca plug from the AZBOX to it, can see the ABOX flash, Tried hitting Resolution once and arrowing right enter and left a couple of times then hitting enter. Tried hitting Home and left arrow, enter, then tried the procedure again. Still no display. Frustrating, been at this 3 hours now

I assume by AZBox flash, you mean the screen that normal pops up for a second or two when you first boot up? Does it not go any further? Or is it stuck on that screen? If so, you may have to re-install the firmware.

Hi Keith,

Yes it does flash, then goes to a blank screen. The power light stops flashing and my ethernet cable goes steady when it is booted up. I did try to re-install the 5020 version as well
Thanks for your help, I really do appreciate it

If you press any of the buttons on the remote (info, for example) does any information show up? If not, try the buttons (OK button, for example) on the front of the box. Wondering whether the remote isn't functioning properly.

Hi Keith,

If I hit the info button, nothing happens. If I hit the center button on the Box itself nothing happens. If I use the remote and hit the Power button, the remote turns the box off and I can turn it on. With no VFD on the unit, I cannot tell if anything is happening

Sounds like it needs to have the firmware re-installed (may be try to re-install your previous version). I can't think of anything else at this time. Try searching some other boards for a similar problem. Good luck!

Keith,

I got it,

Here's what I did

I know from this website, I believe I am supposed to go to(h**p://fw.azupd.com/) which I did and got the download to 0.9.5020, and loaded it

I have suspected the download was corrupt.

I went to h**P://fw.azpd.nl and got their download for 0.9.5020

It loaded and I now have the display. FYI for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank Keith and everyone else Beware!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent! Glad you finally got it after what, no doubt, was an extremely frustrating time!

And thank you for the information about the corrupt file, will bookmark the other site for future use (when they eventually update the firmware from 5020).
