I took my 311 and superdish to canada to use at cottage. I set it down by lake so there wass no obstructions. I was able to get all channels exept for my local channels. why can't I receive them ?

You are outside of the spotbeam.

I am assuming you are in the Wausau, MI market. The spotbeam that provides your locals doesn't cover where you are. Go here for a map of where it covers:

Thanks, you're right I was out of the spotbeam of my home . Is there anyway I can get regional networks ?

Not really.... They are on spotbeams and if you are outside the beam, you don't get them...
