I thought it was very cool. Can you imagine the Rangers vs. Bruins in Central Park??!!
Or Yankee stadium.

Red Wings vs. Montreal Anywhere outdoors!
Nahhh...THAT game I want to see at Tiger Stadium.....
Actually Tiger Stadium had about 40,000 seats that weren't blocked by posts, but actually sat about 55,000. Comerica sits 40,000+. The Big House, now there's an idea. They could play a double header with MICHIGAN- MSU as the opening game. Two of the best hockey programs in the country.
Tigers Stadium held 55,000 ????
In that quaint little ballpark ...
edit: I'll be da*ned 52,416, you would have never guessed it, must have been the 12,416 obstructed view seats !

The seats infront of the posts were the best in baseball, especially around the infield. The CF bleachers were in another zip code from the rest of the park, God forbid you bought seats behind the posts.... The Tigers would jam 55K on opening day routinely. A huge tradition in Detroit. This city will forever be a baseball city first, followed by the Pistons, Lions , and Wings. (I don't understand how Ford Field keeps selling out).
What's up with that? Wings have been kicking ass, and taking names against everyone except their own division, which could be one of the weakest in the NHL.
GO WINGS!!!
Interesting, the Wings are 7-7-2 against thier own division
Dallas is leading thier division and they are also struggling against the Central, they are 3-5-1.

Also starting on the Eastern Conference team are forwards Vincent LeCavalier of Tampa Bay and Daniel Alfredsson of Ottawa; and defensemen Andrei Markov of Montreal and Zdeno Chara of Boston. The goaltender will be New Jersey's Martin Brodeur.
For the Western Conference, Vancouver's Robero Luongo will start in goal. The forwards are Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk and Calgary's Jerome Iginla. The defensemen are Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom and Calgary's Dion Phaneuf.
Interesting conversation on the radio the other day. 1460"The Fan" had legendary OSU linebacker Chris Speilman on. They were talking about how great the outdoor game was on TV.
Speilman said that he loved but it was STUPID timing putting it on against bowl games, especially the Michigan-Florida game.
He said (EXACTLY what I was thinking) "Why don't they putit on the following week as a lead-in to the NFL playoffs, with no other TV competition."
The host asked Speilman if he wanted to be NHL Comissioner?
Speilman said, and I quote, "I'M NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO BE THE NHL COMISSIONER!"
Good 'ol Gary Buttman, what a pathetic excuse for a comissioner.

Followed closely by Bud Selig.
Ugh, 3 straight losses for the Wings, and last night's game was an embarrassment. It's strange that as soon as Osgood is named to the All Star team, he lays two 5+ goal stinkers in a row. The Ottawa game was a fun one to watch, but the Wings were definitely outplayed. Hopefully this is just a midseason lull.
Jackets 1 point out of 8th!
I expect them to make the playoffs this year !
