OK, he's saying the MPEG2 version of the channel, not the MPEG4 version which we're saying looked fine last night. But then again what do we expect when we're taking to someone that's never wrong.
Read the post again Einstein neither I nor he was talking about mpeg4. I was reffering to the behaviour of people here in the past. If you were blind then what would give you sight now? Most of you lost all credibility on PQ a LONG time ago. Where's Mota? I know he's not blind. LOL

PS Smithsonian HD is SOFT.

Since it was the mpeg4 feed on 212, and you are the only one I am aware of that is complaining, the answer to me is obvious!

Hey Homer Simpson, what's the title of your thread? It's "NFLHD Looks like crap". The NFL-HD channel is a MPEG4 channel that's on channel number 212. You quote CPanther95 about PQ on MPEG2 channels as a bases for supporting your argument. If you want to b*tch about the PQ on the Special Events channel #95, which D* also happened to put up a simulcast of the NFL network for the old MPEG2 folks then fine, change the title of your thread since that's not the NFLHD network. Yes, we all know D* MPEG2 HD leaves a lot to be desired and it's going to stay that way until they migrate everything to MPEG4.

the truth is all of us are on some type of weird drugs and verbs isn't. that's why the pq looked terrific to us but lousy to him. what other logical explaination is there? oh yeah, consider the source!

While I agree ESPN has really looked like ass lately during college football (very embarrassing for a sports network), Ive never seen the issue on NFL network.

I flipped past the game last night about 9pm and it looked fine to me. Not CBS quality but much better than ESPN.

The pregame was pristine IMO. Like previous games they have done.

The game however had all the symptoms of ESPNHD.

1. The natural grass 8x8 sections of it looked like turf shots on FOX or ESPNHD, just solid green areas. Not enough resolution to really make it look like grass.
2. On shots right before the ball is snapped showing everything but the DB's there were artifacts around the players
3. Close ups of players jogging back to the huddle looked like screen door You could see hundreds of blocks.
4. the rotating red graphic with NFLHD was a pixelating mess.

Well here ya go
New DirecTV channels degrading? - AVS Forum
I dont think I need to quote all of them.

OK, make up your mind, are we talking about just the NFLHD channel, which is the subject of this thread or all the new MPEG4 channels, which then needs to have the title changed. In the link you provided there is not one single reference to a PQ problem with the NFL HD channel. There are references to the NFL-ST HD channels, which are still MPEG2.

Some of the post in your reference thread has people saying they've noticed issues while others say they haven't. CPanther95 mentions the Food channel, he's seeing it get worst. Then you have one that says Food has been bad since launch and another saying it's rock solid. That's the problem with measuring PQ, unless you have something probable/reproducable that others can see it's all an opinion.

Anyway, back to the NFL HD channel, which was your original rant, looks like you are the ONLY person that's responded on this thread that channel 212 HD last night looked bad, so the majorites opinion is that there is no problem last night.

Honestly I did not watch it long enough to notice. Ill have to take a closer look at it, I was always impressed with NFL in the past.

Its very simple yet you can't seem to grasp it. Its an old thread and at the time NFLHD was fine. I linked to it because it demonstrates that PQ is deteriorating. Thursday night it deteriorated a lot more. Can you comprehend such an advanced concept? Obviously not and that gets you placed on ignore for me. Run along now.

Gee, can't you comprehend that NOBODY else is seeing the NFLHD channel looking like crap! Oh, I forget you're the great Vurbano and you are NEVER wrong. Blow it out your a** and realize that sometimes you are wrong and get a life.

Man, this site is getting hard to be in of late.

People constantly arguing with one another .....
This thread, the one I was just in prior to this and in other forums as well.

How about we all try to get along with one another ...
This site is for information first and opinion as well, but lets take it easy guys, it's getting rediculous.

Maybe its the holiday pressure.

Na, maybe it's just that I'm tired of jerks like Vurbano and JTN that post garbage and then when someone disagrees with them you get Vurbano calling everyone fan boys or telling them to blow him. If they want to play the a**hole game I'm more then willing to play with them.

You will lose that game. They are experts, you are at best an amateur! :haha:haha
