I also think Oakland has a few suprises up there sleeve this year, but I see Baltimore as not a strong team as everyone is predicting and, also overlooking KC a bit and I think KC has a chance to beat them.

I don't see the Raiders beating the Chargers for the first time in 6 (now 7) years. I think the Chiefs defense is underrated, but we've got to prove we can move the ball at all - let alone against one of the better defenses in the league, so I don't have my hopes up. We will give Flacco troubles, but the defense will prevent us from capitalizing.

This is the first time in five years that I don't have NFL Sunday Ticket (we switched to FiOS last January and love it :up), so I'm at the mercy of Fox and CBS this year.

Just curious what other markets are getting for week 1.

Here in Boston.................

1:00 pm
Vikings at Browns (Fox) and Jets at Texans (CBS)

4:00 pm
Redskins at Giants (Fox)

I get the same FOX games as Bill, but for CBS, I'm stuck with Jags-Colts.

I'd much rather watch Jets-Texans- Schaub and Andre Johnson are on my fantasy team- or the battle of feel-good turnaround teams in Miami/Atlanta.

CBS local-Jax/Indy
CBS East-same
CBS West-Denver/Cincy

Early
Fox local-Vikes
Fox East-Dallas/TB
Fox West HD-Vikes

late
Fox local and East-Wash/NYG
Fox West-Seattle/STL

CBS E is Detroit, Fox is Rochester NY
CBS W is Seattle in HD, Spokane in SD
Fox W is Seattle in HD, Spokane in SD
Unknown what Canadian channels will show via Shaw Direct :)

I agree with Fox's choices for Boston, but I disagree with CBS' choice.

The Dolphins, like the Jets, are a division rival of the Pats, but the Dolphins beat out the Pats for the division last year.

Besides, the Dolphins are playing another playoff team from last season, while the Jets are playing the Texans.

Also, any time Matt Ryan can be showcased here in Boston, the networks should take advantage of that.

Conservative picks, mostly the home teams. Winners are in bold.

The Rats over the Chiefs are my stone cold lock of the week.

Flacco has greatly improved from last year. This team is no longer a one trick pony.
