Thing people are forgetting is ...
Teams, players as well as coaches do the same thing when big plays are happening, most are watching the play on field though, not the Jumbotron, the thing is, you never see the sidelines when a play is happening unless it's coming thier way.

WATCH the sidelines sometime when your AT the game and you'll see that it happens often.
He's not even looking at the Jumbotron. He's not supposed to be on the white, especially when the play is headed in that direction. He should have been penalized, without a doubt.

If he's NOT watching the Jumbotron, why would he have his back to the play the whole time ?

Watch the video on the link I posted. He may be facing the Jumbotron, but he's looking off to the side, almost over his shoulder.

It's a shame coaches like Tomlin and Jason Kidd have to pull stunts like this....

I like Tomlin, because he doesn't make excuses for his team. But, he's going to face a huge fine for that. Unintentional or not you can't be on the white line let alone on the field of play.

The media likes Tomlin so this won't be as big of a deal if this was another coach. If this was Schwartz or another coach that's not a friend of the media people would be screaming for a suspension or worse.

I'm SURE he did look when the noise and play started to come his way regardless if he was looking at the tron or not.

If he was on the inside edge of the while I could understand, but standing on the field of play where he was was obviously intentional.

It's clear that you'll defend your coach to the bitter end, and I get that. It's also clear that intentional or not, he was where he was not supposed to be, and that should have been a foul. To try and rationalize it to say he didn't mean to do it is inconsequential.

The NFL supposedly does all it can to protect the players.Ok Bell scores but because the helmet came off the score is taken away. That did nothing to protect either player, and in fact,it ended up getting more players injured. They really need to rethink stopping the play where a players helmet comes off.Why penalize a player by taking a score away when he did everything he could to score, and got knocked out in the process.I could see it if a player without a helmet attempts to get up and continue the play, but when he is down for the count, that's just stupid.

That was beyond stupid. Ruling the play dead the second his helmet came off was NOT protecting him in that situation. It's not like everyone was gonna freeze the moment Bell's helmet went flying.

I think the intent of the helmet coming off was not looked at correctly when they put this rule into the books.
It was intended to keep the Hot Shot Look at ME player from taking his helmet off, however, by the rule the play is stopped whenever it happens wheather its intentional or not.

Personally, if its ripped off by the D, the player should Not have to miss a play, but currently they do.

I think Tomlin did it on purpose, he should be fined. If I was the player running the ball I would of ran him over.

Imo he's not a good coach, he won the super bowl with Cowher's players, the only good player he drafted was Timmons, the steelers need to get rid of him and his coaches.

Tomlin didn't draft any of the players, nor did Cowher.

and who to cut who to sign. drafted and non drafted.
Cowher was always coming up with guys in lower rounds and non drafted. uncanny at it

I think that was more the scouts that make the majority of the calls ... they got alot of lower round guys to come thru a year or two later.

Steelers biggest problem is thier refusal to go after FA's as well as signing many of thier own guys.
That puts them behind EVERY other team in the NFL.

They never went after free agents, Noll and Cowher knew how to Draft.

Cowher imo
over came this with his eye for players

With today's win the Patriots have clinched a winning season for the 13th straight season. The 49ers and Cowboys hold the record with 16 straight winning seasons.

The Vikings pull a win out from their ass.....

oh and Frazier.....keep Cassell as the QB. We actually want to win
