NFL 2013 Season

Remove horrible games, add good games. I don't see the problem. You might want to count up how many games are being added and removed in that scenario also before parading about the financials. I long thought they would drop 2 preseason games (and the revenue involved) to put pressure on the players to expand the season to 18 games now that they are enjoying reduced practices, offseason workouts, etc which would result in longer careers, less wear and tear. Any revenue lost the players will be affected too, not just the owners.

?They need to re-seed the playoffs, 7-9 teams shouldn't be hosting a 10-12 win team wildcard weekend.

Love that they've ensured there will be a team on Hard Knocks next year, looking forward to Raiders or Steelers next season if nobody volunteers.

Deja vu all over again?? :D

Terrible idea IMO. The NFL is one of the few sports who I think has a perfect system for the post season and what it takes to get there. Goodell is pushing it, we'll see how far he can do so without F***ing things up.

Couldn't agree more. I think the current NFL Playoff structure is perfect for the amount of teams in the league. Divisional Round Weekend is one of my favorite weeks on the sports calendar!

because they are cutting back to 3 preseason games need to make up that money somehow, welcome to 7-9 teams to playoffs

Under the proposal, which would add 1 more wild card team per conference, no 7-9 teams would have made the playoffs in the last decade.

The most difficult part of this is how to arrange the games on TV IMO.

Totally against expanding the playoffs.6 teams from each conference is plenty.I don't want to see more losing teams in the playoffs. Also,if they go to a seeding format, they may as well do away with divisions.I have thought for years it was stupid for an 8-8 team or worse to get in,because they won their division, and an 10-11 win team has to stay home.As much as love the Eagles,I don't want to see them go to the playoffs with 6-7 wins.

Yes because of you dont get to host a playoff game for winning your division all rivalries should go away? The entire scheduling rotation? Obviously sarcasm or you didn't think that through.

When would this new format have let a losing team in? I stopped looking at a decade back.

You are suggesting a 6 or 7 win team will have the a better record than 22 other teams. I wouldn't be surprised if that is statistically impossible.

I'm sorry stevo you lost me?

What I'm saying is this.If the NFL goes to a true seeding playoff selection, then what would be the point of division champions? Here is my example,3 teams from the NFC west have 9 or more wins,2 teams from the north have 10 or more wins,1 team from the south has 10 or more wins. All teams in the east are below .500.With a true seeding system,no team in the east would make the playoffs,so winning the division would be pointless.I don't see how else a seeded system could work, unless it's only partial seeding, meaning Cowboys get in at 7-9 but have to go on the road to Chicago at 10-6,even though they didn't win the North.

And certainly rivalries wouldn't go away, there just wouldn't be any divisions,16 teams all vying for either the AFC or NFC conference regular season title.Scheduling shouldn't be a factor either.12 conference games 4 non conference games.

Make the playoffs the same way (win division, win wild card spots), and then reseed when the playoffs start. Sorry I wasn't specific. :)

That kinda the same way the NHL does it and it makes sense ...

The division winners are in regardless of record, then the WC's fall in after the division winners.

Peterson's son in critical condition. Not minimizing the situation, but apparently this is a child from another "baby mama." I thought originally that maybe some psycho fan was involved, but ESPN reported that this wasn't Adrian Peterson,Junior, but a child he had with another woman in(I know I'm going to get the state incorrect) South Dakota(watch it be North Dakota). Anyway ESPN reported that someone was under arrest for the assault.

According to reports, the baby mama's boyfriend assaulted the 2 year old. Media outlets are reporting the child is not expected to survive. AdrianP just held a press conference and stated he IS playing this sunday.

If all the above is true, then I lost all respect for Pederson as a human being.

Final word on Adrian Peterson's son, whoever & for whatever reason, someone hurt this child,he is nothing but scum & eye for an eye is totally appropriate here.
