Raiders coach Dennis Allen was already excused from the team through Wednesday to be with his seriously ill father, leaving offensive coordinator Greg Knapp to run the show.

Monday night his father died of cardiac arrest. Allen is still expected to return to the team Wednesday evening to coach the Raiders against the visiting Broncos.

Correct. I have heard the same, but I have heard more because the OL covering a moveable QB is tougher than statue like Palmer. I personally would like to see him with the 1st team to see how he does. I think inacting him for all these games was a mistake, knowing how fragile Leinart is.

IF you think McFadden is made of glass...Leinart is made of wet toilet paper...!

Doesn't it seem meant to be if they end up with Barkley? Of course, they'd probably move another former USC QB or two if they did.

Let's hope the whole team plays like wet toilet paper and is not "inspired" by Coach Allen's fathers' death.

Well....I don't know how inspired you gonna be with a short week AND a 5 game losing streak. It will be close, but I expect the Donkeys to pull away late.

Do not get me wrong, IF it weren't for Palmer, we would be in the 1-11 or 0-12 range easily. But, IF you are in the rebuilding process, doing it half assed ain't gonna solve it. To a certain extent, the ONLY 3 people in the organization that gets a pass is the NEW GM, the HD and DO(who inherited a mess)...there rest of the coaching staff...gotta go. Players, other than a few acceptions on offense...the rest need to be evaluated.

Just read today that Tom Brady is the first QB in NFL history to win 10 division titles.

Eagles fired Jim Washburn yesterday. He was the defensive line coach. He instituted the wide 9 scheme that is pretty good for getting sacks but sux against the run.

They also named Foles as the starter for the rest of the year.Looks like Vick may have played his last game as an Eagle. There is an outside chance they would keep him with a restructured contract.

Since the Steelers stopped the Pigeons home winning streak, I thought you guys would like to watch how Steeler fans think.

Feels like 100 years ago that Arizona was 4-0 along with Atlanta and Houston.

Well, two of them are 11-1. The other has done absolutely nothing since October.

Looks like Manning has one of these tonight:
