NFL 2009-10 Season

Holmgren Returning to Seattle as GM?

Things look a little different now. Ruskell is in the final year of his contract and he apparently would like to put himself out of his misery a little early. He is supposedly going to resign today, according o the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. His team is currently 4-7 and only kept out of last place in the NFC West by the hapless St. Louis Rams at 1-10.
Ex-Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren is supposedly the top candidate to take over.

As this decade comes to a close, we hear a lot of about teams and players of the decade, but I ask this:

who is the biggest underachieving team of this decade?

I say the Eagles. They've been a consistent team, good seasons, make the playoffs frequently- but always fall short in the playoffs. They are 1-4 in the NFC Title game, and have not won a Super Bowl.

They've had some high-profile playoff flops- the final game at Veterans Stadium against a Bucs team they had previously owned, scoring only 3 points against Carolina, a poor defensive showing against the Saints, and ruining an inspired comeback with a terrible showing on Arizona's final drive.

I say the Chargers, with Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, LT, Junior Seau, Merriman, Quentin Jammer, Gates, etc., still can't get to the AFC championship even with home field advantage. I used to blame it all on Schottenheimer, but if they don't get past the 2nd round in the playoffs this year, I'll say it's a team culture problem.

Obsess much? You forgot to post a video of (or even mention) Edwards's TD catch last night.

Oh, and funny how once the Jets won a couple of games Cleveland stopped posting the 'Before and after Braylon Edwards' records...

They get more balanced reporting in Cuba...

Oh come on Sandra. You have to admit, Braylon certainly hasn't been the difference maker that so many people in NY forecasted him to be. For the most part, I loved the guy in Cleveland. As a fan though, it was completely aggravating at the quantity of perfectly thrown balls to hit his hands and then drop. Braylon = Buzzkill. :p

Well I never said Edwards would be anything, and I'm the only Jet fan here. I honestly didn't know much about him before he came here. I don't love him or hate him, the Jets' problems go far beyond wide receivers. They start with Leon Washington and Kris Jenkins being out for the year...

I must say, however, the thing that impressed me most about that video was Mark Sanchez running down the field to high five Edwards afterward. I've been all over Sanchez, but that showed some welcome maturity.
