NFL 2009-10 Season

I also felt bad for rookie Darius Butler, who played his ass of all game, to get called for a PI on the 2nd to last drive.

That I agree was a BS call!

That was a 30 yard penalty on the Colts penultimate drive, which is another reason why I hated Belichick's decision. The people that were defending it were saying that the Colts were going up and down the field on the Pats D in the 4th quarter. While I agree that the Pats 4th quarter D wasn't exactly stout, it wasn't as bad as some were making it out to be.

I agree that that was a bogus call. I've seen MUCH worse not draw a flag.

Maybe what he was thinking is that, Peyton under throws a 30 yard pass someone breathes on Wayne and they are were they started anyway.

My problem is more the play calling and timeout management than actually going for it. If you were going to go for it on 4th, run it on 3rd or a freaking WR screen to WW. On 4th nothing wrong with a slant to the BEST WIDE RECIEVER IN FOOTBALL, or the bubble screen if you ran on 3rd or a sneak on 4thif your close. Man, I hope Charlie gets fired at ND this offense misses him or Josh.

BTW, how about the stud they now have at LT.

If Pats can get the 3 seed they will be fine, I'll take my chances in Cinncinati on Divisional weekend.

The Jets' record over the last five games has more to do with the defense, anyway, which took a huge hit when Kris Jenkins went down.

Sandra

I agree, and that was essentially my point. He's a more productive player and the offense is more productive with him as a Jet, record does not reflect impact of a single player, but rather the failure of the team.

Vollmer is a BEAST!!!!! :up

I like Matt Light and all, but he has lost his job to this kid!

I actually feel better about the Pats than at any point this year. I'm just very pissed at Belichick. :p

There's no doubt in my mind that this team can win two road playoff games, if need be. You know the defense is only going to get stronger (health permitting) as the year goes along.

I was calling for the direct snap to Faulk on the 3rd and 2.

They've run that play very successfully in the past on 2 point conversions.

ESPN's Michael Smith is reporting that Larry Johnson is currently en route to Cincinnati. Barring a breakdown in talks, L.J. is expected to sign with the Bengals.

If he signs, he'll have a familiar opponent this week - Oakland.... and 2 days after Christmas the Bengals host the Chiefs.

I was just about to post that. I don't know how this thing is going to turn out. I just hope he doesn't upset the team any.

Yeah, I'd think Lewis would be on top of any chemistry problems, they should be pretty good at that by now.

If they still primarily use Benson and bring LJ in as a bruising change of pace guy, could work pretty well for them.

Bobbled it at the 32, had secure possession by the 31 or 30 and a half yard line. Bad call by a ref whose was looking at Faulk's back.

All the nose of the ball has to do is touch the 30 yard line, since they started from the 20 off a touchback.

Patriots are not getting that call correct on Polian's home field.
Did you have a better view of the play from your couch than the official who was straddling the line?? He was in the correct position to make the call and immediately signaled the bobble.

I'm a HS football official and no offense but you remind me of coaches who stand at midfield and tell me from 20 yards away that the defense lined up in the neutral zone....

Right now, I have a feeling the Pats are really going to take out their bitterness from last night's game on their next opponent.

No way. Can't happen. Rex Ryan just reminded us at his press conference that his defense is GREAT. And his great defense will actually PLAY great...eventually.

Some girl said Ryan sounded like a dope when his team was 3-0, and he could not stop his mouth. Now she says he sounds like an absolute buffoon.

Yes, I had the benefit of instant replay. But the referee who called that was looking at Faulk's back had no business calling it the way he did, he had no view and should of asked for help, instead he played to the crowd and the Colts bench, very unprofessional, IMO he should be fired from his position with the NFL.

That's exactly the unbiased view I expected.

You had the benefit of replay but the replay did not have the benefit of the view that the HL had. He also immediately gave the bobble signal, instead of trying to explain later that's what he saw.

I could understand your frustration if the official was out of position and made the call from the 25-yard line. I'm not saying his call was absolutely correct but he was in the right position and made a quick call. If I were you I would be more upset with the Pats play call/pass route which gave little margin for error.....

Three weeks ago, the Bolts were 3 games back in the West. Now they're tied with Denver, and they play each other next Sunday. Looks like the Broncos are trying to repeat their collapse from last year, just doing it a little earlier this season.

The umpire was coming in to mark it at the 31 he is the one who had the view of Faulk's hands, not the guy who couldn't see them. If he couldn't see the hand it should of been marked where forward progress was stopped. Blown call, plain and simple.

I'm done here; it's obvious you don't know anything about the mechanics of football officiating.

The umpire never gives forward progress spots, that's the responsibility of the wing officials. The umpire helps on possession or the ball hitting the ground.

It's funny that you seem to know that the HL couldn't see Faulk's hands, yet the HL knew and quickly signaled he had initially bobbled the ball...

Orton now expected to play with an injured ankle against the Chargers, despite being listed as questionable. Think they're still trying to figure out how bad he's hurt, so kinda early to rule him one way or the other.

Marvin Lewis said that if they sign LJ, he'd probably be inactive for this week.

Here is a bizarre stat....ever since blowing out the Raiders, ONLY the Broncos have a winning record after that game...and they are 3-3...the Jets are 0-2 and the Giants are 0-4.
