NFL 2009-10 Season

Uh oh...storms are a brewing in Broncoland....

...not good when you more or less state this guy is your franchise player:

Cutler thinks he is still on trading block

Yes, the Denver Broncos want Jay Cutler to return for a little sit down to mend fences after the team's reported failed attempt to trade for New England quarterback Matt Cassel. Cutler won't have any of it after the two sides spoke by telephone Sunday.

"They want me to come in and talk to 'em but I'm not doing it right now; I'm going to lay low," said Cutler. "The [Broncos] deny everything. That's a problem. We know for a fact they tried to trade me."

The Broncos have denied reports of their trade talks with the Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions. They have characterized any dialogue as "inquiries" not initiated by the team, even though multiple sources have confirmed the Broncos' interest in Cassel, who was dealt Saturday by the Patriots to the Chiefs.

"He's not the only person in the last few days we've received calls on," new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels told the Denver Post. "We've received trade calls on a number of players, which is not uncommon this time of the year. I also think the sensitivity of the other trade that was occurring, with my relationship with New England and the whole Cassel thing, I think that stirred the pot even more."

Uh, oh. Looks like new coach Josh McDaniel's has his first fire to try and tame. Next up is deciding what to do with Brandon Marshall. Welcome to the big-leagues coach! :D

There's also a report out now that Cutler had asked for a trade early in the offseason.

The charges against Brandon Marshall have been dropped, he could still face discipline from the person conduct policy though.

The rumors in Detroit say that a deal may still be made. We should have drafted him in the first place. I can't see him being a "happy camper" if the Lions do acquire him. I would trade our #1 pick for him in a heartbeat.

Question: When did Matt Cassel morph into Johnny Unitas??!!

I understand that he performed above and beyond expectations last season, but I agree with what Jimbo keeps saying about the Scott Mitchell factor.

I agree, IMO he didn't do that good last year.

I think if he played behind another O line, he would of been worse.

Who cares? For the price KC payed, he's still better than anybody they had on the field last season.

What happens after this season, is he a free agent again?

Come to think of it, it's probably just this year he is signed because of the franchise tag.

I just can't get over Denver wanting to trade Cutler to get Cassel.

There was actually talk of the Patriots cutting Cassel last August because he performed so poorly in the preseason.

Good comparison, but one difference- Mitchell joined a good Lions team that had some nice offensive cogs, as opposed to the mess Cassel is inheriting. He may not be handing off to Larry Johnson or throwing to Tony Gonzalez.

The difference between matt and scott is that matt actually played almost a whole season while scott only played a few games here in miami and based on that the lions gave him a chance. dumb move since scott proved he stunk like we already knew here in miami.any little success he might've had was due to their running game at the time. so the only way to know is by giving matt the opportunity. he would need a similar offensive system as he had in NE and have in mind that with a season under his belt, teams will be better prepared for him as there is plenty of film on matt now.personally,i think he will do better than scott mitchell but the question his how much better? the one thing i do see is that matt is definitely more mature at this point than scott was. maturity can help.

Jay Cutler is now crying because Denver wanted to trade him...
NOW Who's the Primma Donna ....

I wouldn't touch Cutler in Detroit with a 10 foot pole, now that he's come out and all but said he won't play there.
