NFL 2009-10 Season

That was a phenomenally entertaining fourth quarter in the Sunday Night game.

Antonio Gates came up HUGE for me in Fantasy Team- FINALLY, he showed me why I chose him!

I thought it was a very impressive game for the Steeler's, they needed it after losing the last two ....
They really need Palamolo back on the D side of things.

Colts at Titans for SNF next week, maybe I'll just go see a movie.
Man the Titans are way worse than I imagined, and I thought they'd struggle this year. It's reassuring though. I never could get my head around Kerry Collins being good.

It might be worth watching if they throw up the white flag and say Vince Young has the season to prove he deserves to be on the team and start him here on out.

I agree, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain for the future development for Young.

wow so the lions are not the worse team anymore???? weee :D:D rams, buccaneers and raiders are competing for that spot now

NO running game and then you have to depend on Russell. The Texans defense was allowing almost 200+ yards of rushing and the Raiders have only 40 yards rushing....

.................40 FREAKING YARDS!!!....................:mad::mad::mad:

You have to be able to pose a threat in the pass game in order to open up the run. Defenses are stacking 9 in the box to stop your run and daring J-Marc to beat them on single coverage. Obviously, this plan is working.

In deference to HD I will not do a Monday Morning QB, or will at least wait until after he does his. I did not realize I was stepping on his toes last week.

Monday Morning QB: Week 4 with HD MM

1. It pains me to stick up for the Ravens, but Ray Lewis and the Rats were victim of a few VERY petty roughing the passer calls that led to TWO Patriot scores. Even former teammate, Rodney Harrison agreed when he had this to say on NBC's Sunday Night Pregame: "Tom Brady, if you're listening, take off the skirt and put on some slacks -- toughen up." In a milder voice, Tony Dungy agreed. Wow!

2. Drew Brees goes 2 consecutive weeks without throwing for a TD and the Saints are STILL 4-0?! I guess this is a testament to how they've become a more well rounded team. If this keeps up, the Saints will be a force in the NFC down the stretch. Maybe the Saints are this year's Cardinals?

3. Welcome to the National Football League Mark Sanchise. As a rookie, there will most certainly be more days like this. Unfortunately for him, the fairy tail abruptly came to an end on Sunday.

4. Despite the loss, the Jets D still played remarkably well. To hold the Saints high powered offense to 1 TD at the Metrodome is a moral victory of sorts.

5. Speaking of moral victories, I have to give it to my Browns, they played their hearts out yesterday and probably should've won... or tied. It also appears the move to Derek Anderson was the right call.

6. As great as Peyton Manning is, isn't it scary that this year is his greatest start as a professional?! On Sunday, he was 31 of 41 for 353 yards, marking the first time Manning has topped 300 yards in four consecutive games. It's also a franchise record. Seattle coach Jim Mora summed it up perfectly: "We played greatness today," Mora said. "He's one of the finest of all times."

7. I guess we'll have to go another week before we find out if the Broncos are really "this good".

8. I guess the Titans really do miss Albert Haynesworth, but 0-4?! Wow.

9. Good win for the Chad Pennington-less Dolphins. This is a team based on clock management, being able to run the ball and the ability to play effective defense. Tony Sporano and company didn't stray from that scheme one bit on Sunday's victory over the Bills.

10. Those of you who rank the top and bottom teams of the NFL, please add the Buccaneers to your list of woeful teams. They are a VERY bad team right now. The Redskins also have to be either the worst 2-2 team in the league right now, or the most lucky. I can't decide.

11. No Frank Gore, no problem. Niners improve to 3-1 on the season. Also, let me be the first to commend Niner coach, Mike Singletary. He was made fun of and heavily criticized last year for his emotional ways. I think he's proven to get the most out of his team so far in '09. The Niners have a no-name QB, suspect WR's and lack of depth on defense, yet he's gotten his players to come together as a TEAM and are playing some very inspiring ball right now. Good for them. Who needs a number #1 draft pick? Pft.

12. Did the MLB even need to ask the NFL to interrupt the game being played tonight in the Metrodome between the Pack and Vikes? Pft. America knows the Pigskin takes precedence over game #161 of baseball. Go play your game tomorrow. ;)

You meant Superdome. :D

I don't know about that. The Bengals for some reason just turned off the switch after the first quarter.

The luckiest without a doubt.

It's game #163 come on get it right. ;) :D

Naw. It just took 1 half for Derek Anderson to get on the same page with the rest of his offense. You guys dominated the first half, but we dominated the second half. :)

What is it with your new favorite team, the Ravens? Do they ever lose a game without blaming the officials. The calls were correct, according to the rules, you don't like the rules fine but how it that the Patriots fault? Mike Wright was called for a similiar roughing the passer, I don't see him crying like a baby, like Lewis, Reed and the knee diving clown Suggs. Rodney can say what he wants, he is wrong because Brady doesn't call penalties, the referee does.

Excuse me? The Ravens are my LEAST favorite team. I was rooting for your precious Pats, but I am also looking at this objectively. Something you should try. And the problem I had the biggest issue with was Tom jumping around pointing at the defender. He looked silly.

Apparently his former teammate Rodney Harrison and esteemed former coach Tony Dungy also agree with me too for that matter.

BTW, for those of you who haven't seen the video from last night..

He was just out for a year because of a torn up knee, and now a guy tries to cheap shot him, what do you want from him? Does he call the penalty?

Do you have the same complaint against the Mike Wright roughing the passer, which also kept a Ravens drive alive? Should he of got in his costume after the game and also called out the refs?

As for Rodney, seemed like a joke to me, but that is just the way I took it. I could care less what Dungy thinks about the Patriots or their players.

Daze of our Lions

This week's edition will be short, pretty much like this team's attention span. If a football game only lasted 30 minutes this team would be almost mediocre. One half of inspired football seems to be all they're capable of.

This week's culprits were the special teams, which played pretty much like "special" teams, without the heart or ability of those that participate in the "Special Olympics". They consistently gave the Bears superb field position all game. Just sad.

Adding insult to injury was Stafford getting his knee wrenched in the final quarter. Easy to see why Culpepper didn't get the job, his arm is as strong as a wet noodle.

The defense has proved again that any quality passer will have a field day against our secondary. This team has no D-line and Cutler had all day to find his targets. And how about our running game? Yeah, I didn't see one either.

Bottom line: You don't win many games in this league when you are giving up 48 pts. to the Bears.

Next week: Pittsburgh. It's going to be like a bye week for Big Ben.

The NFC South is a two-horse race.

3. Welcome to the National Football League Mark Sanchise. As a rookie, there will most certainly be more days like this. Unfortunately for him, the fairy tail abruptly came to an end on Sunday.
He was bound to screw up eventually.

4. Despite the loss, the Jets D still played remarkably well. To hold the Saints high powered offense to 1 TD at the Metrodome is a moral victory of sorts.
I don't recall the game being moved to Minnesota.:D

5. Speaking of moral victories, I have to give it to my Browns, they played their hearts out yesterday and probably should've won... or tied. It also appears the move to Derek Anderson was the right call.
That was a moral victory. Two offensive touchdowns after what they went through is a good sign. After yesterday, I am not so worried about their games with Oakland, KC, and Detroit.

Interestingly, Mora's father was Manning's first NFL coach.

7. I guess we'll have to go another week before we find out if the Broncos are really "this good".
Cautionairy tale- my Bills started 4-0 last year. We all know what happened from there on.

8. I guess the Titans really do miss Albert Haynesworth, but 0-4?! Wow.
I didn't have them making the playoffs, but I thought they'd get off to a better start.

9. Good win for the Chad Pennington-less Dolphins. This is a team based on clock management, being able to run the ball and the ability to play effective defense. Tony Sporano and company didn't stray from that scheme one bit on Sunday's victory over the Bills.
Sparano is 3-0 against Buffalo.

I say the Rams are worse. At least Tampa put up a fight against Washington.

11. No Frank Gore, no problem. Niners improve to 3-1 on the season. Also, let me be the first to commend Niner coach, Mike Singletary. He was made fun of and heavily criticized last year for his emotional ways. I think he's proven to get the most out of his team so far in '09. I picked up the 49ers defense off the waiver in our Fantasy League... and I STILL lost to you! P.S. You think Steve Spagnuolo is having buyer's remorse? Right now, I think he is in way over his head.

12. Did the MLB even need to ask the NFL to interrupt the game being played tonight in the Metrodome between the Pack and Vikes? Pft. America knows the Pigskin takes precedence over game #161 of baseball. Go play your game tomorrow. ;)
It's reasons like this that make me wonder why NBC doesn't schedule a Sunday Night game opposite the World Series. Football is more popular than baseball, but they still fear going up against the Fall Classic. This isn't 1968 anymore.
