NFL 2008-09 Season

I can't take undefeated teams past October for granted until they win a very meaningful games (last year's Patriots beating the Cowboy, 1985 Bears beating the Cowboys, 1999 Rams beating San Fran for the first time since 1990) that proves they are legit.

Sabres,
not to sound like a jerk here, but if I buy into your theory that the defending champion, who happens to be undefeated in the middle of October isn't legit.........................then WHO is???

That Bears game you mention was in Dec IIRC. The Bears were legit a long time before that. And the Patriots have been legit since about 2001.

Let me clear things up once and for all, Bill:

Since the Redskins game, the Giants' opponents don't have great records.

IF the Giants can get past Pittsburgh with zero losses or only one, then I will admit they are legit.

The art of a champion is to look good against opponents that can be considered very good.

(Example- when the Cowboys beat down a very good 49ers team in 1993)

Fair enough, but that doesn't answer my question.

Who do YOU think is legit?

BTW, the Giants can only play who is on their schedule.

Then they will lose to Baltimore the NEXT week :D

Steelers, Eagles, Cardinals, Cowboys
(They are playoff threats, IMO)

Steelers= definitely

Eagles= I think so too, but we'll see

Cowboys= NO!!! Not until they can do it in the playoffs!

Cardinals= All I can say is WOW!! A team that gave up 55 points to the JETS!! A team that has one playoff win in 70 years!! A team that plays in the weakest division I can EVER remember! THAT team is legit.

BUT the defending Super Bowl Champions, who are undefeated coming into tonight are frauds.

K, gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up.

OK, Bill,

I'm sorry I brought this all up.

The Giants' schedule of not-so-good got into my head.

I want to drop this- I don't want this to fester.

Someone mentioned that the Browns are 2 GB of the Steeler's with a win.
Actually they are 3 GB with a win, seeing the Steeler's won the first game.

They would be 2 games back in the standings. Technically the Steelers own the tiebreaker by winning their first matchup against each other.
