NFL 2008-09 Season

Speaking of the Vikings, how about that 99-yard TD pass?

IMO, had Gus Frerotte been named the starter at the start of the season, they may have won their first two games and may be 8-3.

I dont see what the big deal is, he wasnt using language, you did. Its as simple like that. Now we can get the discussion back on track.

So how about them Bears!

So if you are a moderator, you can call other members names?

J.O.? You are honestly going to tell me you don't know what that means?

I got home to see the play......after it happened :(:(

highly unlikely. Gus is a decent hit away from dead. What I'm worried about (yeah I know...what am I thinking) is next week against Detroit....after all the Vikes won 12-10 the last time

I dont know what JO means, and I can care less. I didnt take it as a flaiming remark, or calling anyone a name. But using language, wich scobuck didnt do, and returning the favor by calling him a natzi is far worse. You were warned about the language and calling him a natzi. You continue to argue the fact you were warned.

bob just drop it....as officer Barbrady says

"nothing to see here move along"

and now back to the Vikes/Bears game

Hart,
I have the hit on TV at the moment and I froze it right at impact and the players actually hit shoulder pad to shoulder pad, nothing wrong with that hit.

Welker also saw the hit coming as he took several steps.
Welker knew he was going to get hit as he knew the ball was tipped, th DB did not know the ball was not coming to Welker.

There are hits worse than that in almost every game.

GOOD HARD FOOTBALL!!:up Thing of beauty!!

Time for our choices for NFL Player of the Week (Unless a Jag or Texans goes nuts on Monday).

My choice:

FP4268~Denver-Broncos-Jay-Cutler-Posters.jpg

Jay Cutler- 27-43, 357 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 34-17 win that not only snapped the Jets' 5-game winning streak, but showed that the Broncos can be a dangerous team if they make the playoffs

(Remember- Denver is one of the intimidating and difficult places to win in come playoff time!

Denver- where Super Bowl dreams go to die!)

OK, how many thought it was a late hit, like the ref's did.
Had the ball gone thru to Welker, the hit would have been timed perfectly, but because of the tip, the DB is suppose to just be able to STOP on a dime and not hit him ?

I'm sure the NFL will look at this closely and probably fine him for something that a) could not be avoided and b) was a legal hit due to the fact that the DB didn't know the ball was not going to make it to the WR.

Jimbo

That was a clean hit, but if one of their players hit Ward like that, it wouldn't be. We all must bow down to the Patriots and Belicheat.
