NFL 2008-09 Season

I watched some of it, but I just can't get interested in watching 2nd and 3rd stringers that will be bagging groceries at the supermarket at the end of training camp in 4 weeks.

I doubt any of the guys I mentioned will be unemployed and working at the local supermarket.

Yeah I know, but they won't be the starters for the most part.

QB Controversy in Baltimore

ESPN - Boller to start in 'a nod to experience and seniority' - NFL

And so it begins. Apparently rookie draftee, Joey Flacco hasn't shown enough yet to even get the nod over default starter, Kyle Boller.

Boller has been announced the starter for the Ravens opening preseason game against the Patriots on Thursday despite mixed reviews from training camp.

Wow, if I was a Ravens fan I'd be a little concerned. Imagine NOT being ahead of Kyle Freakin' Boller (at least not yet)!!!!

I'm setting an over/under:

Will ESPN talk about this Ravens QB controversy for at least 5 seconds?

Then again, they're more concerned with where Favre ordered his pizza from.

If anything, I think the Ravens should've given Troy Smith a shot at starting. Last year, he showed signs of growth and definitely showed more life and play making ability than Boller.

He will get his chance when Boller falls apart.

I had heard earlier on that Troy was the leading candidate so far, that may have changed or the media may be picking with thier own ideas.

Omg, NO vs Arizona? That is one crappy game.
I want a refund!

I got ST, and still won't be able to see my Patriots pre-season games? I call this B/S!

No kidding, what was ESPN thinking of (I know, I know we're talking about ESPN ). Two teams that have about 3 playoff wins in a combined 130 years.:eek::eek: And it's not like either one is a great media market.

Here are the possible reasons as to why ESPN chose this game:

1. Both teams have great offensive talent (Colston, Fitzgerald, Boldin, Shockey, Brees, Warner, etc.)

2. It's a Trojans reunion, with Leinart on one side and Bush on the other.

3. Arizona has a nice new stadium

Yep,

all excellent point, Sabres. I forgot the one that I highlighted.

BTW, watch this be the year that the Cardinals take off. I pick them to make the playoffs every year and they fail. This year I'm picking them to miss the playoffs, so you know what that means. :D

Are you ***** serious, I was watching the NO vs AZ game, and omg, the whole time they were talking about FAVRE. ESPN, you are bunch *******, stupid *** network that should get a **** life other than talking about FAVRE in their dreams.

This is worse than NATALIE HOLLOWAY on FNC/CNN.

Don't blame only ESPN, your hearing it on ESPN , because thats what your watching.
The NFL network was WORSE last night and they haven't quit yet.

Jimbo,
I hear what you're saying, NFL Network has been more over the top on Favre. BUT at least they have NFL in their title, ESPN is supposed to be covering multiple sports, and yet it seems it's about Favre 90% of the time!

During the Ravens-Pats game tonight, Don Criqui and Randy Cross were discussing the possibility of Chad Pennington (who was released by the Jets earlier today) signing with the Dolphins.

BTW, I know it's only the exhibition season and Tom Brady didn't play, but the Patriots look AWFUL tonight and are losing to the Ravens, 16-6 early in the fourth.

Given how last year's game ended, I wouldn't gve up on the Pats.

The DOLPHINS?

How about the Vikings- Miami is still not going to be any better in 2008.
