Not sure what the latest deal is for newbies, but check out www.dishnetwork.com as they will have all the skinny on your options.

I would go for a vip622 DVR, which is a 2 tuner HD receiver, with HD-OTA as well. It can record to tuner 1, tuner 2, and OTA at the same time.

You would feed HDMI or Component video to the big monster SONY you have, and then use coax to reach the 2 other SD tvs. You'll find that the SD tv's PQ is pretty good; even with downrezzed HD feeds.

That option would be cheaper than getting a 622 and a SD 625 DVR for the two SD tvs. The only thing is the two SD tv's would share the same tuner, so if you wanted three different sat feeds coming in, you would need 2 receivers, and that would increase your cost.

Just my 2 cents..

Oh.. and sign up for one of the HD packages. If you want it all, get HD Platinum; 30 HDs, plus any available locals, and the America's 180 SD with all four premium movie channels (3 in HD currently!). I think I pay $104 for that.

Just my 2 cents..

I agree.... Go with the Platinum plan, if you can....:up

How does that work? I have the 622 hooked up to my HDTV and a 2nd SD tv but should the need present itself someday, I'd like to know how to hook it up to another SD tv. I understand that these two SD tv's would share the same tuner. So the net effect is that the 622 can power 3 tv's: 1 HD, 2 SD ... I didn't know that! But how to hook up, that is the question!

Thanks!

622 RF-out goes to a cable infrastructure. That infrastructure feeds as many TVs as you run it to. TV1 and TV2 on separate channels.

What is the best solution for a two- room installation with both room needing HD?

2 receivers. If you want DVR on both then that is 2 622s, If you only want DVR on 1 go with one 622 and one 211. If you don't want DVR at all go with 2 211s.

No FSN for DishHD Bronze/Silver?

DVR to IPOD
