With a lot of newbies getting systems and needing help setting up, please help us out when creating posts (this goes for the veterans too)
If you are having trouble with your setup, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE list your setup (what receiver, LNB, dish size and motor if applicable you are using).
If you are asking “my numbers are 36 elevation, 177 azimuth and -20 skew…is this right?” Please post location (city & state or zip code)
Many posts the first response is “what are you using for equipment” or some posts don’t get answered because it’s too vague. The more info you give, the better we can help out….

Hi sidekick,I can't help you with your OTA issues,I wanted to say welcome to the site and enjoy it. There are alot of people on here that have an abundance of knowledge in all kinds of technical areas. There are alot of threads and topics to look at and read through on here.If that doesn't help, perhaps some of the kind people on here can be of assistance.Best of luck to you.
maybe i can get this right this time. i have a pansat 2700a reciever.im using a wingard ds-2076 dish. LNB is a spitfire model ASC321 10750.rg-6 cable.im also using a diseqc 1.2 hh rotor.my problem is that when i use my satfinder to locate a signal i get a strong signal on the satfinder at the dish and at the end of the cable that connects to the reciever but when i connect to the reciever i get no signal at all.my level guage on the screen shows 90% but my signal strength is 0%.that would indicate that i have a good signal going to the reciever but the reciever is not processing the signal being sent to it.i think my unit is not working properly but the company i purchaced it thrue says its a setup error.is there that much of a diference in sensitivity from a satfinder to the one in the pansat reciever?at this point in time im really frustrated with the idea of FTA but im hopeful that maybe i can get some much need help here. also my coordinates are latitude39 longitude 76 spring grove pa. 17360.its been all but 3 weeks that ive been aiming and hunting with my dish.am i wrong to think my reciever is bad?
That's exactly what it appears to newbies, but it's not the case. I don't set much stock in signal meters, haven't had any good luck with them, sort of like you. There are members here that seem to live by them. So, I'll let them explain how they get them to work. The "Quality" is what you want. Once someone on here helps you with your settings, it should get better. I'm not familiar with how to get those numbers for you, but someone will come along and help.

Try ditching the signal meter and taking your receiver and a portable TV out to the dish (if this is possible). The signal meter in the receiver is far more helpful. As others have pointed out, remember that you are looking for SIGNAL QUALITY not SIGNAL STRENGTH. Your meter will show strength even if the dish is pointed at the ground.
well it turns out that my reciever was not working.the pansat technician says that they found an incorrect file loaded in it.i tried to explain that i didnt load any files into the set but there going to charge me $40 to repair it.doesnt sound fair to me. im currently waiting on the unit to be returned so i can see if im going to get a good reciever or not.i would not recamend any body buy from GOsatellite.com because they are thieves.
that sounds weird if you didnt load any files into it what would be the issue? The factory software works fine out of the box so if you had a defective one then they should fix it for no charge
