This thread and the other by the op in here seems to be in the wrong forum. If moved to the general forum, more eyes may be brought to help.

My main problem was that I thought I was aiming at a pie plate at 50 yards. But now I think it is more like a quarter at 100 yards. To continue the analogy I would say that " I am unsure if my sights are set correctly and the correct target is not certain." It seems like it is more like an art than a science at the moment. Anyway I used the info you all gave me and I think that I am getting a feel for it.

This is often a problem when people first start aiming a dish. The movements have to be VERY slight. An eighth of an inch will move the dish several degrees in azimuth. You are actually aiming at an object the size of a car that is orbiting 23 thousand miles above the equator.
