Hey guys I have been reading a lot on the forms posted here. I plan to get DirecTV Para Todos and I have a stupid question so please bare with me. What is the overall difference between calling Directv and ordering from an authorized dealer? I guess what I want is some of the pros and cons of calling an authorized dealer as opposed to calling directv? As far as cost is considered which is the better deal?

Also if I install my satellite in my townhouse roof will the install ruin my roof? I though about getting a pole so I wouldn't put holes in my roof. Thanks.

The biggest difference is you can be face to face with the local dealer. With Directv everytime you call in you will talk to a different Customer Service Representative(CSR).

Dealers are also free to wheel and deal on cost more than DirecTV.

They can operate as close to the wholesale price as they like, but DirecTV tends to sell all products at MSRP and then offer rebates.

I suggest ValueElectronics. I've not personally used them, but they have a great reputation around these parts.

I finally got Directv Para Todos installed yesterday. I'm glad I made the switch from comcast to direct tv.

I have one question more,

I live in Va/DC area and according to weather reports Saturday will have severe weather and high winds. Is it possible that my dish will move out of alightment?

Unlikely.

Even if it's possible, which is true, although remote, just don't worry about it.
Your system will say "Searching For Satellite Signal."

Until then, sit back and enjoy.

The dishes are pretty sturdy and get locked to the appropriate coordinates.
Hell, I live in Tornado alley and have never had to get a dish realigned.

Best Multi-Switch?

Cycling between two channels on one tuner.
