Hi, guys. I am new at this. Installing Ultra to dual 31" with a SG 2100 DiSEqC. I attached cables yesterday and noted almost zero reading on continuity test on reciever end of coa:mad:dish, gound block and 4X switch grounded, rotor and LNB's connected). Five minutes later, the same test moved the needle way up the scale(1/3). This morning the reading is still up. Does this mean the silicon is NOT cured yet?
Also, I'm bugged about the digital optical audio cable. I have a Toslink which fits my JVC RX-6030V nicely, but does not seem seat properly inside that little door on back of Ultra. Are there more than one of these optical cables, or is there something else I must know to get this to plug in properly?

Cant help with your other question about the sillicon but I got my cable from Radio
Shack, fit my Ultra connector perfectly. Don't think there would be more than one type
, other than the one for a 'coaxial' connector..

Where did you use silicone?

There are two different optical connectors, but the second type was usually only found on portable devices (Walkmans, etc.). The connector only fits one way, try to rotate it 90 degrees.

Thank you for your replys.
The silcone issue was strange. We were startled to find a near-open circuit immediatly after finishing the connections. I made the check to see if there was a closed circuit (bent over centre wire, etc).
The optical cable problem solved itself when buddy brought a cheap cable over, and it went in and seated right off. When I tried the high grade one, it finally seated also. I guess it was a matter of plowing the way.
Thanks again guys, sure appreciate the input.
