I live in Florida in an uncharted land between 33850 and 33881 (Polk County).
I bought a used 36" Dish with no brand markings on it. I am trying to get Hispasat KU at 30 deg. This dish was previously used for Direct TV LNBF. I purchased what was supposed to be a a universal LNB Holder. However it does not fit the rectancular feed arm. I temporarily installed it on top of the arm (see the attached pictures). I am using a universal LNBF with no switch feeding directly a Coolsat 6100 Private. I get a signal level of 62 but it shows up in most directions and elevetaions. I am thinking of filing down the plastic lnb holder to make it fit inside the dish arm. Any ideas on how to make this work and eventually get a viewable signal? Thanks for your help guys.

PS: The LNB holder has a scale of 0 to 20 degrees on each side. However the pointing information says -50 something. How do I do the LNB skew? The dish itself has no skew adjustment.

You will need to find the focal distance from the center of the dish to the front cover of the lnbf. If you have the original lnbf, put it back on and measure from the dish to the lnbf.

You will need to make your new bracket and lnb's match that distance.

The lnb's appear to be aimed towards the top of your dish.

Skew is the cw or ccw rotation of the lnb's. If this is not a motorized dish then you will have to get the skew information for the satellite you are aiming for. www.satsig.net will give you that.

That is a start.

Signal level only tells you that the lnb is connected and powered up Signal Quality should read in the green to get a picture.

Place the left hand lnb in the dish tube and leave the other lnb connected as is but skew it to zero.

If you go to the Sadoun site it will show you how to install your dish also check out youTube.

Why not get rid of the DTV lnb and put your Universal in the best spot? Some carving wouldn't hurt it, I've seen pics on this forum where people have completely cracked/sawed away that plastic covering or case on these little lnbfs. If you're in FL the lnb will need to be skewed counter-clockwise from the zero position (standing behind the dish). You'll have to guess at that, if its only marked to 20 or 30. Check the satellite's aiming information for your location at dishpointer or one of the aiming sites. That far east, the dish is prob going to be looking almost level, straight ahead lol. Remember, the offset dishes are actually receiving signals from mugh higher than they appear to be "looking".

edit: Looking at the first picture again, it appears your lnbf-support arm is seriously bent!! Is that an optical illusion, if not you are going to need to fix or replace that or you'll be looking for 30w a long long time.
