I am interested in receiving c/ku channels, I would like to get some french channels if possible?

what would be the minimum dish size I would be able to use?
do I need a motor on dish?
what LNB do you recommend?
I am thinking of using coolsat 5000 receiver would that work?

if there is something else i need in order for it work please advice.

Around 30" and 6' are the minnimum size of dish for KU and C-Band.
That receiver will work for both KU and C signals.

Nothing French FTA that I am aware of, closest would be Dutch BVN on the IA-5 satellite.

There is some french stuff that shows up, its on c band so you need a 6' + dish to get it. Both Telequebec and CBFT are on Anik F1r, french feeds show up there also from time to time.

would I be able to get some canadian channels on the ku, they might have some
french channels.
does anybody know if CBC newsworld is FTA?
