New Software Version S315 for Hopper With Sling is Here

Sorry if this is further derailing this thread.

Well I know With directv if you tune in late you can go back and watch the show . . .

Let me see if I understand what you are stating here - are you saying that if you change channels (not tuners) to a channel that was not being previously tuned by that receiver, and it is past the starting time of that program, you can go back to the beginning of the program and view the entire program?

Are you sure about that? And if that is the case, can you or anyone else here please explain how that is accomplished?

No that would be impossible, unless the HOPPER is recording all channels at all times. Maybe the NSA can do that, not Dish.

OK just got 2 HWS and installed. Bedroom system Yamaha HTR-5935 has no HDMI so it is hooked up by optical audio cable for surround sound. HDMI out to Vizio E370VL for picture only. Sound dropouts are severe. We have been using the swap button to get it going again, but that is very annoying. Can anyone confirm that they are working on a fix for this? Family Room HWS hooked into Denon/Samsung all HDMI system and no problems.

Does your Vizio have optical out? If so then try from there to Yamaha instead of from Hopper.

I am not sure if my Vizio has optical out, I'll check but would only consider that a temporary fix. I HOPE they are working on this come on look how many are having the issue. Not everyone has all Hdmi equipment in every TV viewing area.

It has been reported to Dish , but whether they are working on a fix is another thing. Doesn't seem to be any big rush to fix it, that is for sure.

I have a HDMI cable going to my 6 year old Sony LCD and a optical cable going to my Sony Receiver from my Hopper. If I switch the input on my Sony Receiver to TV Tuner, the audio drop outs are gone. But now I have a 2 channel output. This really stinks.I have a 7.1 audio system that I can no longer enjoy. If Iwould have known this, I would have never upgraded to the new Hopper. No troubles before.

I don't have a hopper so can't comment on any setting...but I have a Sony 5.1 audio system also. When. I feed it with optical from bluray....the ones having DTS HD audio get no issue. The ones having DD True Hd get audio drop out. I was forced to set my bluray to automatically down convert DD to something that don't cause Sony receiver audio drop out.

At that time I some digging & found that thought they didn't meddle with their standard DTS but Sony did something to DD there fore not able to receive max audio freq advertised & accepted by DD over optical.

Check if hopper have some such setting.

My TV does have a optical out, but we have been using the swap key and reverse key to reset the audio. Not a good fix, but better than 2.0 analog sound. A fix for this should be a TOP priority for DISH!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Hopper w/Sling keeps returning the Guide to "My HD Channels", and not my My Channels (and I never use the "My HD Channels" set of Favorites..). I don't recall my old Hopper doing that.

So it seems the new software version is not coming so fast. I pulled out an old monoprice HDMI switcher that has an optical out on it and ran my HDMI into that and optical out to receiver and voilla problem solved. New problem is the switcher loses sinc everytime I turn it off so I have to unplug it from power and reboot it everytime I turn on the bedroom system. At least we don't keep losing sound while we're watching everytime we change channels or fast forward. I hope they fix this soon. Old Hopper never did this in the 8 months I had it.

wth is PIVOT (Which has apparently replace DOC) CH 197?
