So i have this setup here at home:

dishpro 500 to a dpp44 to a 301, 811, and Dual tuner dvr. I want to take the 301 and the 811 to my other home up north. Which LNB do I need to purchase in order to use the 301 and the 811? Preferably without a switch.

Thanks guys!

All you will need is the same kind of lnb that is on your dish know. If you want voom then you will need a Dish1000 or another dish including the Dish500 for 61.5. Give us a little more info like where you live, if you get voom, etc.

sorry...

No voom, and the 811 and 301 will be used in 49799 (northern michigan) and the dual tuner dvr will stay in metro detroit. I only need 110 and 119 for all of them. I was just confused because I thought that I may need a switch like the dpp44 that I have in belleville to use up north with the 811 and 301. I will be using the 811 for the few HD channels that are offered on 119 and 110. I'm doing this basically so I can have my metro detroit locals while i'm up north at the other house, and I like the dish network hd channels.

I just want to make sure I get the right one, because the ones I have now look like they are seperate - two lnbs that say dishpro, and two coax coming from the antenna to the dpp44.

I tried testing another lnb that I have up there, looks almost the same, except all integrated into one unit, but doesnt say anything about dishpro on it. when I ran check switch, it wouldn't detect anything.

Hate to rain on the parade here but you guys do know that he is likely to be hearing a call from the audit team in the near future, right? Just to let you know jj E*'s stance on having receivers split between residences but on the same account is that it's a big no no. If the audit team finds out about it you will likely have the two receivers that you plan to take to the other residence shut off permanently.

Thank you for the warning, I realize this. This is going to sound like an awkward thwarting attempt now that you've told me this, but this is not actually my installation, but my girlfriend's father's. I am simply buying the stuff he needs for the install. I had to join here to ask, as it's been quite a few years since i've dealt with dish network, or dss in general. Last time I had Dish was in 2000, and it wasn't even a dish 500 :p

If those are your receivers that you are taking to the other house i wouldn't let the audit team stop you. I've done it before. If they call just tell them that you are on your cell phone and that you are away from the house at the moment. They will give you a couple days so that you can get the other receivers to your house where the others ones are. Been there done that. Its sad that there isn't a way for them to tell the difference between people that take there receivers to there weekend river house and the people that give their receivers to there parents or friends and share an account.

heh... well eventually, all the recievers will be up there and the whole account will be shifted, but thats much later down the line.

So at this point i've gathered that I can use a legacy dish 500 lnb, or a dishpro twin lnb?

wouldn't I have to buy a switch if I were to use the legacy lnb?

You want need a switch for the 811 and the 311 if you use a DP or legacy twin on your Dish 500. The word twin means its got two outputs for both your receivers

You know people get huge fines and federal prison time for things like this. You were brave enough to put this on a board!
All I am doing is letting the guy know how he can take a couple of his receivers up to his weekend home without getting his receivers turned off by the Dish network audit team. I have seen this stuff posted on here hundreds of times and I personally don't think there is anything wrong with it.

I agree, I think if a person owns a second residence then they should be able to take their receivers with them. Look at the RV'ers. They make special equipment just for them.

Exactly. Dish and Directv shouldn't attach these people that do this because this is one of the main reasons that alot of people chose satellite over CATV.

I would just get a Dish 500 Quad
Run 2 cable to Dual tuner and back feed, Probably get 2 diplexor for the 2nd tuner output.
Then run 2 other ones to single tuners.

if you go to DP+ it will make easier for 2 tuner but you will need $$$DP44$$$ for the other 2 tuners.

No VOOM for commercial accounts

Position of the DP switch?
