every little bit helps...

...and for those using something less* than a C2, the improvement should be greater.
?.
(* all those dual-band LNBF s)

Well when the dual output model comes out I’m going to be buying.

I'll probably wait for that also.
The thread that was asking about what would you pay, was asking about a C2PLL.
Since this announcement I have gone back and looked at some LNBF reviews, and found that they say my DMX-242 has about the same performance as the C2, I was surprised to hear that! But, I know it out performs the C1 that I bought.

Well, I will not wait fo the dual output, even though this is my preferred opton; I want to be part of the TESTERS team and publish the results on my six footer!
More than watching TV, the real fun is on testing and trying it! So you want to buy it when all the fun is gone and everybody know what the performance is?

will be glad to get one for my 6'. will stick with my dmx-741 for the 8' unless I switch to receive the 8' and the 1.2 through the encoda switch. then I would put the dmx on the 6". will try the lnbf as soon as it is available. charlie

No, I'd love to test and try every product ever made. I just love tinkering and fiddling with all this stuff, and the wonder and enjoyment of hunting and finding, whatever I can! BUT, I cannot afford to get everything out there, not even close! So, I must then try to decide what is more important to me. Since I've been spoiled by the 2-output LNBF that I have, I know I will want another. So I will wait.

OK. It is underestable. I just want to make sure enough people buy it and if it happen to be a good product, makse sure they go the next step and build the dual unit. They may not go that way if the single output unit does not sell enough qtyies

Titanium Satellite proudly introduces the upcoming release of the C1-PLL Phase Lock Loop C-Band LNBF. The C1-PLL is the World's first PLL type C-band LNBF. The C1-PLL offers the simplicity of voltage controlled polarity selection with exceptional performance and stability required for reliable reception of S2, high FEC and narrow bandwidth satellite transponders.

This innovative single output model is developed using the latest PLL chipsets with a balance of gain, isolation, stability and amplification to produce a Phase Look Loop C-Band LNBF that outperforms all other C-Band LNBFs. All Titanium Satellite products are factory line tested multiple times to assure specification compliance and performance. In addition, all products are inspected by an independent third party service to insure complete manufacturing and performance compliance. Any product found not to meet our exacting "A" grade requirements is either reworked and certified to "A" grade performance or destroyed. Unlike competitors, there is no 2nd market for "B" grade Titanium products!

We have all heard the comment, "Looks Aren't Everything". This statement is so true! The C1-PLL with the heavy cast aluminum mass and thick wall housing sports a glossy snow white color protective finish. This attractive finish with offsetting cool grey and black hardware not only looks great, but it also reduces overheating when exposed to direct sunlight. The natural color aluminum cooling fins also assist in dissipating heat from the electronics and body mass resulting in a lower operating temperature with increased performance.

The craftsmanship, quality components and innovative design make the C1-PLL superior to any C-band LNBF available on the market. The C1-PLL is provided with a secure fitting, Royal Blue color feedhorn cover, dielectric slab insert for circular C-band reception and mounting hardware. The included universal flat type three ring scalar is tapped for mounting on button hook, three and four leg prime focus dish designs. An optional Titanium CS1 conical type scalar with a universal 68mm clamp is available for offset design dish mounting. All Titanium hardware is secured with the provided Allen Head type screws and key tool.

Titanium Satellite also introduces to C-band LNBF production the waterproof, 3GHz, blue-insert, F-fitting coax connection. After noting the cheap coax connections used on several competitor C-band LNBFs which had clinch point damage after only a few insertions, we requested the manufacturer to source a component upgrade to a 3GHz fitting. Yes, the upgraded fitting costs 10 cents more, but why go cheap? :)

While a traditional corotor design with the mechanical polarity controller provides increased performance and fine-tuning adjustments for overcoming interference and optimizing reception, many hobbyists and satellite viewers do not wish to be bothered with the additional expense, complexity and control limitations of this traditional feedhorn design. The C1-PLL is a simple way to increase performance and signal reliability of your BUD (Gig Ugly Dish) without breaking the bank! With the low MSRP of $45, the C1-PLL is a solid investment in improving your C-band system performance.

How does the C1-PLL perform? See how the Titanium C1-PLL C-band LNBF performed in this recent side-by-side shoot out on the 58w satellite, Intelsat 21. The C1PLL significantly outperformed the C2 LNBF, which is currently considered by satellite hobbyists to be the best C-Band LNBF sold. The C1-PLL is setting new performance standards for next generation C-band LNBFs!

We will post the final product specifications, additional testing results, product information and photos as the release date gets closer. A dual output C2-PLL model has been developed and may be released in Q2, 2014. Our product offering and growth will be based on the initial product feedback and general market demand.

The C1-PLL has now been approved for production and will be available for purchase through an authorized reseller network during November, 2013. If you are interested in becoming a Titanium Satellite product reseller and receiving a C1-PLL for your own testing and review, please visit our website for contact information. Please Note: We are not taking consumer product information or sales calls. Customer Support telephone lines and emails will be available after November 1st, 2013.

Titanium Satellite looks forward to providing you with exceptional satellite products and excellent customer support!

How about removing the above off-topic B/S from this thread?
Thanks.

I agree Deleted. Seemed to be off topic and we all know it would not stop.

?:)

LOL, what's ironic is that I did not even get to read the posts these two made before it got deleted as I have these two individuals on my ignore list. Glad I'm not the only one who finds them rude and annoying!

:focus: Going back to topic, a C-band PLL LNBF is certainly a promising product and I can't wait to upgrade our development lab's C-band dishes with them in order to provide our developers with a more stable C-band signal on those narrower SR rate transponders when working on AzBox development.

There's a reason your post got delete to.

why does it need a heathsink? is it going to drain out too much current? So the new small receivers like the Amiko Nonao will not be able to power it?

PLL's inherently do create more heat as they use more power. There is still a reference oscillator in PLL's, the more stable you can keep that LO the better your stability and noise figure will be. Maybe they use an oven on it, its pretty common in PLL's.

The size of the receiver doesnt determine how much current they can supply, thats up to the power supply. Look at laptop power supplies, they are very efficience and can easily send 100w+ of power. If your receiver is having issues driving a motor, its the power supply at fault.

The maximum current draw of the C1-PLL is only 145mA. That is slightly higher than a DRO KU band single output LNBF, average for a dual output DRO KU LNBF and less that half of the current draw from a typical Norsat PLL LNB!

As a follow-up: Two Canadian Companies submitted applications yesterday and we look forward to working with them very soon!

Those are good news, if they can keep a price relativelty close to the US price, as for example, Brian did with the Geosat MicroHD, however some canadian companies charge almost double sometimes, not funny
