I absolutely agree!
Phones & tablets barely get by now with their "screen lit" time.
Well, that's subjective.
I get by, but I also plug in for a jump-charge during the day.

And as screens & backlites improve in efficiency , will that extend run time?
No, we'll get slimmer devices.

You guys needed to remember that SoCs and other components are also getting die shrinks which reduces power consumption as well.

With the new intel haswell chips it appears that laptops are approaching that point.
