Wow, that's a great news for FTA TV viewers!! Now I am wondering what satellite they will use? Maybe on AMC-4 101*W?

I just hope, they carry 3 or 4 NASA sub channels with high quality bit rate.:hungry:

Looks to have a lot of potential. I only wounder if having it open and not encrypted will greatly limit the programming that some of the channels will provide. With it being promoted as an in the clear system with a satellite footprint of Canada, United States and Mexico will only require programming rights for all three before programming can be aired. For channels creating their own content, or even using public domain content, this is not a problem but I would like to see some more content than just this for programming. I would really like to see shows like Gunsmoke, Rifleman, Hopalong Cassidy and such on the CowBoy Television channel but do think this will be an impossibility. I hope I'm wrong, really hope I'm wrong. Also, a channel like RTV or MeTV and a Mystery/SciFi channel would be a good fit with the others to round out the programming. WhitespringsTV would fit in great, but I would like to see better video quality than they previously had.
Well, I'm hopeing for this to come live soon, and that I have a good line of site.

Well, very good news indeed. If these come to fruition, it will be good for the FTA community.

No, I have nothing to do with this. :)

pro & con:

pro: this is what it takes to get such an idea moving.
the site acts as a focus to attract interest.

con: anyone with $25 can set up a web site.
so, it doesn't mean anything will happen.

Being the nosy, investigative skeptic that I am, I sent an email to the supposed consumer or client of this new broadcasting agency, the billiard company.

I will share their response here when (and if) it is received.

New info including White springs

Hi guys,
I see that the Freedbs website has changed since I first saw it 2 days ago. It now lists White Springs(Golden Age of Movies) as one of its contract pending channels.
This is very interesting and may or may not lend credibility to the site depending on your view of White Springs:D. This may also explain why we have not heard any info from White Springs recently. The site also now contains a short mission statement and a list of hardware that can be used to receive their service. This is getting more tantalizing every day but I like many of you am still skeptical. If this is a hoax I don't understand why anyone would be doing it. Any thoughts?

If they constantly update the website, it is hopeful. But it is still speculation until we see what satellite they will be on and launch date. It would be nice to see a confirmation from White Springs from their own site....

If this is a hoax I don't understand why anyone would be doing it. Any thoughts?

Maybe Charlie has a very very bad sense of humor!

I hope we do not have to read between the lines!

"free D(ish) BS.org"

I SURE HOPE THE CHANNELS & SERVICE BECOMES AVAILABLE!!!...

Looking at their site again, I see a link (where it says 33" dishes) for a FTA online store. Clicking further, they are selling what looks exactly like the old DirecPC Duo elliptical dish from about eight years ago for $59 and they say they are in stock.

hxxp://www.primefocusantenna.com/http-//www-primefocusantenna-com/free-to-air/dish-antennas/cat-4-html/prod_82.html

Looking around they are selling a ANALOG Ku/C band receiver for $249, and a 12 foot C-band antenna for $1895...the same type you see on E-bay for free or for under $100.

Who would sell a analog receiver for $249, and a C-band dish for $1865, not to mention the (long out of production) DirecDuo dish for $59 (in stock nonetheless!) as well?

Something isn't right about this whole thing.

The online store is located in Tennessee, and...not that I was going to buy it...wanted to see what the shipping charges were for the DirecPC Duo dish. Shipping wasn't available.... though they do charge tax even though I live in another state....hmm.
