Any word on the street about a new DVR from Directv, and how far down the road is it.

Existing R2x and HR2x DVRs will likely be used until the new TiVo-based unit arrives in a year or so (and possibly beyond).

R22 and HR22 are the newest, both are essentially the same sans the R22 has HD capabilities disabled. Both give at least 50% more recording capabilities.
