I have read this forum off and on for a few years, and I have got helped in the past a lot when needed. Been with E* for 9 years until this last week, wife and I are on a tight budget to save up for a new car (novel idea I'm told) and so we cut our bills down by getting the promo from D* and by reducing our package. Everything has been good for us so far, being with E*, I have a good idea of how the receiver part works, but one thing I can't seem to find is a schedule sort of screen like I was accustomed to with my DISH receiver that would tell me all the scheduled programs I had set to record, and it would cross out ones that were like a repeat episode or something along those lines. I would like to be able to see what all is scheduled to be recorded, but no matter what menu I go to I can't seem to find that feature.

I have an HR24 receiver if that is needed for help.

On your remote, press MENU>Manage Recordings>To Do List. All of your scheduled recordings are there.

Boy do I feel silly. I kind of knew I would, but I swear I had been in that menu previously and didn't see it. Well one less problem solved with this D* deal.

The D* guide does not show episodes it wont record. I know what you're talking about as my dad's 625 does that. It has the option to show skipped recordings and you can hide it

The only "non-recordings" it will show is if your series recordings have a conflict. As example I have a program on Tuesday that records from 7-9, one from 8-8:30 and one from 8-9. When I look in the recordings it says
show from 7-9 to record (highest of the series)
show from 8-8:30 to record (second in line)
show from 8-9 it says "wont record" (3rd in line)
but the day of it will show that last one to record on the "west coast" showing from midnight to 1AM

If you have series to record, always put the OTA ones 1st over the cable ones. Most cable channels replay the "new" episode a few hours later and the D* receiver will grab the "west coast new" episode :)

In the same area you can use the Prioritizer to make the shows you definately need towards the top of you list and those not necessarily needed at the bottom, this is helpful mostly when you have a hard drive that is mostly full as everything you tell it to record, WILL when you have room on the HD.

Also, when you go into the info section of each show your wanting to record, it will say the current date, if it's a First Run show and the original showing date when it's not.

Now that is not 1000% accurate, but most of the time it works fine.

Don't beat yourself up. Changing to a new system always takes a little time to learn. In a couple of weeks you'll be so comfortable with it that you'll forget how the old one worked. Enjoy.
