new carbon ui hopper experence app this morning

what do you guys think we could see in the next couple of weeks.
Bluegras, you do realize that anyone that actually knows that is under an NDA and likely can't comment publicly, right? That means that whenever you ask a question like that, you're just inviting people to troll you.

It'll be out when it's out. Scott may get some advanced notice and be able to post it, but maybe not. Asking people what they think will just get you random guesses that won't actually help you predict when it will be released.

I love how secretive this New GUI is , Like it's so advanced that someone may want to steal it.
Bahahahahaha! !
Proprietary confidentiality. They may not want the whole thing, but I guarantee there are parts the competition wouldn't mind knowing about ahead of time.

I doubt it. There is nothing in that GUI that Tivo or even Directv hasn't done already that makes a difference.
Until I see more tuners, and a Better functional Joeys I could care less about anything I saw in that app.

Unless you have the New UI, there is no way possible for you to know that. You have only seen what has been released.

I haven't used a TiVo in years, but the current Hopper UI is leaps ahead of Directv's UI in my opinion.

The Guide with its Icons, Yes.
The Netflix app yes.
The rest is a Wash compared to directv.

Tivo Roamios IMO run circles around both in function.
DISH hopper current guide again with its Icons looks the best.
But again looks are not everything.
Function makes a huge difference. Client operation makes a huge difference.
You can put all the makeup you want on something, it doesn't change what it is.

And from what I've already seen with the Hoppers new GUI, they should just leave it the way it currently is, and work on things like Function.

I am glad that you are the expert on the unreleased UI and can give an expert testimonial about how well it works... From more than the SMALL portion on the app. Without any of us using it, we don't know how well it adjusts for functionality. I remember Scott saying he heard dorm thing about them taking it down to scratch and rewriting the whole code for it. That means, those functionality issues such as software related sluggish responses can be gone. Also, new features that may not be advertised. Who knows, we could finally get a chance to set our own update time. That will fix some. So, go ahead and preach, I'm done arguing, but the fact remains... Anything you say about the functionality of this new UI is nothing more than an opinion on a product you haven't even seen in use, for full functional behaviors. Go ahead and retort, I won't see it... As mentioned in another thread, I swear it's like we are arguing about who the coolest kid on our smart bus is.

If Dish is coming out with a NEW Hopper. Maybe the should just save the new GUI for the new HWS, rather than screwing up the current HWS. Just fix the bugs and add already promised functions.
