I am relatively new to this thread, but have previously seen some of the complaints about one participant constantly asking when the new UI will be released. While I personally do not constantly ask about it, I sure as heck keep wondering about it.
I've had problems with my Flopper (AKA Hopper) for a long time in addition to the generally poor interface we currently have. I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Carbon in hopes that it might solve some of the apparent malfunctions I've been experiencing -- along with a more user-friendly experience. I do not hold out much hope that the Dish techs are really that much in tune with our wish lists and, thus, do not really expect too much from the new UI.
But I wish Dish would be more forthcoming about the magic question of "when." They have to be embarrassed after announcing/promoting it last January. Where it originally was supposed to be unveiled (I believe) around the 2Q, it was pushed back (I believe) to summer, then to the 3Q, etc. They really should be embarrassed as we're not far from a full year later (from the show where they demonstrated it) and they still have not released it.
All I can say is that I would certainly appreciate some inkling from Dish regarding that magic question. We cannot claim the RIGHT to be told about it -- but the cash we shell out to them every month sure as heck should buy us SOME degree of respect from Dish.
