 I am a new DTV customer. I have the R10 Tivo unit. Why does it seem like the picture quality is different sometimes? One day it is perfect with good color and other days it is not? Somedays you get a washed out look. Somedays even the overall picture does not seem as good. I have to admit the picture is still better than what I had with TWC digital cable but I wish it would stay the same.

The bandwidth is dynamically adjusted depending on stream requirements, i.e. the more streams (say for sunday ticket, or something where they add more (temporary) channels) the more bandwidth is used, so it compresses other streams on the same transponder to compensate, so you will see that sometimes, the quality varies, and/or maybe they just like tweaking the compression settings. If it's a local channel stream, it is possible the source itself is having issues.

I just posted a new thread about this. Most SD channels look awful compared to a few weeks ago.

low transponder on 101*, 110, 119

Is it worth getting D* now or should I wait?
