Ok, I have been a Dish user since 1997. I just had my Dish 500 system upgraded to a Dish 1000 and I now have 2 shiney new vip 722 receivers. It appears my locals for HD will be on 61.5 (South Bend, Indiana). Currently my locals in SD are on 119. Once the switch is turned on for my locals to be in HD (Charlie said 30 to 45 days on last chat! Holding my breath!!), I will be out of luck with my current setup?? So I want to add a 61.5 dish. I have my old Dish 500 dish with DPP Twin LNB on it. Can I use that? would it be better to get the Single I lnb atachment for it and if so, what lnb do I need to get that is single? Can the 61.5 dish connect to the 1000 dish if I run the RG6 coax to it? Or do I need a switch? I have my old DP34, but that is not in use anymore.
I had been hoping since my SD locals are on 119 now, that the HD's would be too, but I am not holding out hope.

Thanks Guys!!
Thoughts, suggestions?

You can use the Dish 500 with a DP dual lnb (think that should be what you have if it was used with a DP34 switch). A coax run to the Dish 1000 should work if there is an open input (this is usually the case depending on which Dish 1000 you were given). Not sure if you want to use the DP34 as it may be more work if DPP equipment is being used with your current dish. Once the HD locals are active, Dish usually gives a free upgrade when the locals are on a sat not in your current setup.

In theory, you should be able to run the DP+ Twin as a wingdish/61.5. The tricky part is going to be aiming and peaking it. Once that's accomplished, just simply run a line from the twin into the LNB IN on the D1K.2

if all esle fails, the norm seems to be a free 61.5 upgrade with 24 month commit or 59.95 w/o. not a bad deal if you run into difficulty getting it done yourself. best of luck to ya. with a little effort, you should be able to pull it off.
