Ok.. Here is the situation. Been a dish subscriber for four years, have confirmed that I do not have a contract. Went through a divorce and found out that I need to cut expenses for the next year (@#$ alimony). Don't want to jump to Direct TV (not that big of a sports fan and already have Dish set up) and would rather jump into a pool of boiling oil than go to cable (no other providors).

Currently have the top 200, plus HDs (don't know about the bronze vs silver vs anything, but have all the HD channels including Fox News and HD Net), locals (but cannot get HD since they are on a satellite which will require me to put a wing dish on the opposite side of the house - Cincy DMA) along with the Cinemax for a penny deal. Price is about 100 per month.

I spend most of my time on the HD channels, but need Nick for my daughter (She loves her WonderPets and Dora). Have a 622.

Looking for suggestions that would help defray the costs for me. If Nick was on the HD side I would definately go HD only, but I cannot see Nick HD coming anytime soon. I have tried to look at the Dish site, but either I am too tired, or too stupid (and I am not ruling out that I am both) cannot seem to find something that will get me what I want.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

From your cost estimate, sounds like you might have HD Platinum on top of your Silver/HD. That could be elimintated, as well as going down to Bronze. I'm considering that myself, not to save cost as much as I don't watch any of the additional channels now.
